why is every game made for "drifting" feel like im just driving out on the lake?
Played assetto, dirt, beamng, and a couple more. is it to do with computers and consoles not able to emulate tire physics fully?

From what I understand tire physics are some of the most difficult to accurately depict in a game, not to mention weight transfer as well.

I would imagine that if you had a motion rig setup it would probably feel a bit different.

Assetto is pretty close and the only way to get car x to feel close is using a wheel with no assist. and widening the tires and 120 adh with low tire pressure. i felt like this game was pretty close once you dial in your steering wheel

Exactly! I drift in Real Life and Assetto nails it pretty much or well - gets close. Especially with a DD wheel.

Any tips regarding settings in this game? I would've loved to play CarX with my DD wheel as well but saw and read that's really a big hassle. I always played Drift21 / DriftCE with a controller before. Still really liked it - only the speed was a bit off in my opinion. (speed or grip).

some say max out force feedback but if you want realism. dial it back to 50ish to 60 ish percent. no car is gonna tear your arm off while driving unless you dont have power steering.
