Cant play

I loaded my game up today to see that i lost all my cars after the update. I started a new save and it got stuck on the loading screen while i can hear that the game loaded and im in the garage. I noticed that if i click continue i can load my new game save and walk around the garage but when i try buy a new car it just freezes on the loading screen and nothing happens.

In case it matters my setup is
ryzen 3800x
16gb ram
2070 super
tmx pro wheel ( which by the way doesnt get properly recognized in the game )
th8a shifter
xbox one controller ( for menu navigation )

Have you tried to verify game files after the update?.

Or reboot steam completely?.

Seems both of those are a common fix from others that have had this same issue

Sorry for the problems, we will try to help you. Try to remove the preferences from your game. You can do this by running the file Drift_ClearPrefs.bat, which you will find in the directory where the game is installed, in the subdirectory "\Drift21_Data\StreamingAssets".

I tried this first and it didnt work at all. what did work was verifying the game files
