Wheel support?
Seems like the wheel support for this game needs alot of work, there is basically no self steer at all, so you can't connect turns without having to force feed the wheel the other direction, i can see this game being alot of fun though for sure, anyone else have this problem?

I've been having issues as well; I havn't been able to pin-point my exact issue yet, (i have a g29) re-installing while logitech g hub is open seems to help so far; An issue with switching vehicles I think... im un-sure but seems like when i switch vehicle my wheel dies and the inputs go inverted. Previously if i had xbox 360 wired controller plugged in the wheel wouldnt register as plugged in and when i reset and unplug xb control the wheel is dead and will never work without re-install.

It's an on-going process to figure this out on my end, this is as far as I've gotten.. lol good luck man.

Try these. not sure it'll fix all issues both of you are having but it's a try.

My settings for my G27.

Also having FFB issues. I'm on a thrustmaster tmx wheel. Updated firmware and set for application control. Wheel works great in other driving games. In Drift 21 the feedback is only there when I reset the controls, but the second I adjust any of the ffb settings in game, it just goes back to being a stiff wheel (stiffness depends on how high the ffb is set). The way I get around it, is just leaving all the settings around 5. That way I feel a little something, but don't get stuck with a stiff wheel.

Good to see not i'm the only one having controlling issues. Hopefully the developers will work on this part also.

Thank you @Irate Samurai, what you described with your Thrustmaster wheel is similar to how the controls feel with my g920.
The stiff wheel is what it should feel like (to some degree, not so heavy and with more granular detail in the ffb such as described below) it feels as if it is not correctly utilising the wheels motor at the root cause, which likely means the ffb implementation is lackluster at this stage of development, it was likely a part of the engine as such due to the similarities with the CMS series (FFB was awful in these games too, Drift21 has a far better implementation of this FFB it would seem) i am assuming it was built on to and they could possibly dial in the FFB with wheels if they really wanted to. I'd assume they are going to as they seem to be pushing the sim vibe to some degree.

what this issue seems like to me (i by no means am an expert in any of these matters) is that the function that controls FFB (force feedback) will select another device as the controller and has no way to be reassigned apart from breaking the connection between the wheel and PC for a bit (unplugging) while in game can get FFB to work and have the game deliver some FFB to my wheel and i get counter steer (i have a G920 with and arduino micro handbrake).

i do however have an issue relating to the FFB though, i have a fairly strong setup, but i seem to be missing some of the granular detail in the wheel, such as the feel of the tires on the road (kinetic friction maybe?) there is a certain amount of force that i can feel in assetto corsa and this relates to the amount of load the front tires are under, weight would be the best way to describe, or more specifically this would be rotational weight.

The wheel reacts as if there is no real load on the motor at any time, and on top of that the inability to adjust our camber, toe, roll, etc. the cars can feel quite loose and rather snappy.

Please ECC Games if you can figure this out i'm sure this could be something magical.

Thank you for all your feedback :) means alot, i was beginning to thinking it was just a software issue but i guess not, just wish the game felt abit more like assetto xD

[edit] - { I hadn't seen united_we_ride's post when i posted my reply. I would certainly echo what he's posted. Especially the car not acting like these load to the ground.}

thank-you; Tried those settings on my g29, diff wheel i know, still having issues. I'm used to assetto corsa, gt sport (on the ps4), and project cars (not much drifting in pc1 and 2 but at any rate) and I can't seem to figure out how the ffb is supposed to act in this game. Its some kind of strange feeling the cars just whip around 360 and just about no way to stop it. I havnt seen a way to change the pressure in my tires to allow for more traction, peddle control is ... well.. its crazy..

In short; I cant wait for the next patch to see whats changed for the better. As it stands Im forced to play on a console controller.. while my wheel sits beside me mocking me for being a console-noob. Please Drift21, just make ffb and control like assetto or iracing. Then give us a very small "open world" feel map where we can hang out and do car shows and such; maybe with a small drift and drag track connected? and the ability to "race for pinks" or trade vehicle between players.. if not trade then take a friends car for a spin while they sit in the passenger seat? buutt.. i digress..

love the game but dis-like, to a great extent, the ffb and controls.

actually on the same mind set there for sure, would be so cool do cruise around in your self built cars, find a few spots and just sesh some tandems, but yeah the force feed back is just bad, tried it with upgraded knuckles and arms and still made no difference, could be alot of fun when everything is sorted

if ECC Games can chime in on the FFB in an active discussion like this, that would be fantastic.

Plenty of people here that and attest to the lack of specific forces, if they engage with the community much more actively they could flesh out a lot of these issue much faster during development.

im having issues with my clutch logitch g920 its always engaged either way i invert it in the settings

after changing the setting around apparently the clutch stays in no matter what not sure why all ive done is upgrade the car as the tutorial said..

Thank you for the reply, it's good to hear you are making improvements and i'll be looking forward to see what comes next :) Hopefully a supra? wink wink nudge nudge ;)

Do you have an other controller (ie. Xbox 360/One, or PS4) plugged in to your system? Did you start the game THEN plug in the wheel settup? Make sure steam itself is logged in-to while the wheel is setup. Also I've found with trial and error that if your pc starts up and logs in to steam automaticly without the wheel plugged in it goofs-up. Make sure no other controls are plugged in and your pc and steam start up with the wheel plugged in. If that doesnt work try the setup launcher for your wheel, possible it also may need an updated driver. If that doesnt work (like me) then reinstall, and when you install it make sure all of the above boxes are checked (so-to-speak). All should be fine, still might need to invert your controls but that made the game actually read my wheel properly. long-winded I know, I apologize.
