Best Realism (For An Arcade Racer Anyway) Tuning Settings
Have you ever cased a triple and still pass someone? Have you ever cut across three different ruts and loose virtually no time? Feel like breaking bumps and whoops are kinda pointless in this game because they do not present a challenge? Do you want a more realistic experience but suck too bad at MXSim to actually enjoy it like me??? Then i present to you, a solution. Particularly a tuning solution which makes the game more of a challenge, especially on the new ProNat Dlc.

Slide Tires all the way up
Suspension and brakes close to all the way down (about 90%)
Sprocket and Engine all the way down
Chassis on the second bar to the left from the default position (the middle bar)

Now you will actually be punished for casing that jump by being force fed dirt. You will now actually lose significant time when cutting across ruts. You can now actually feel the braking bumps, maybe even go end over end because of them if you aren't careful. You can no longer turn 180 degrees and stop on a dime. It is significantly better this way. In my opinion it is much more fun. I tested it across all 450's and on nationals and supercross tracks. Just a recommendation for those who feel there is no punishment for over/under jumping or just blowing through the turns as if physics do not exist. Partner these tuning settings with the new national tracks and it really breathes a new life into this game.

Thank's man for taking the time and for sharing... Just wish rainbow could add an option for
the host/room creator to have the ability to lock those tunings..., so everybody could race in same settings/tunings... What do you think?

That would be awesome.

I have only raced online like once? Maybe not even that, that may have been on supercross encore. But even so, I would be a HUGE fan of that idea. May be worth shooting to the devs.

We can pass it along to the team for the next one.

Nice thank you.. if not asking too much could be possible too, in next update, to be able to tune so that you crash if you try to ride the front wheel on whoops???? I mean if you lean rider forward on whoops! :steamhappy:

It's not that easy i think. Forcing others into their own personal best practice physics setting doesn't seem to be such a clever move in regards of mp motivation.

The goal should be to have different settings, equally fair for mp imo.

There are clearly several sweet spots for the physics settings, but settings in between are simply useless, especially for competetive mp. The sweet spots are ranging from the bike being more inert to being 'lightwight'(or more arcade like). It doesn't have to do with personal preference, but with the settings working for the tracks.

So some pre defined settings, offering different 'physical concepts' which are tested to feel right overall and which are equally efficient would make a lot more sense. If this level of balancing should be unrealistic, rainbow should at least define some settings that you can use to make them fix for all for mp sessions.

Besides, i fiddled around with those settings and at some point, the bike gets simply stucked from one second to another, like it would've been stopped by an invisible wall. This happened several times while cornering.

You were having issues out of the settings i posted?? The issue you described as being stopped by an invisible wall?? That is very strange to hear, as i have tested and played with them across every size of every OEM DLC bike. (Except the husky 350)

Yes, the settings might have slightly changed, but that happened when using your settings as a starting point.

people are so complicated nowadays...

as long settings change bike physics will be good to have this contained in mp races... would be great for room hosting to have this option available!

Would be even greater to have the chance to add more realism in bike settings... like the bike be more grounded (less floaty) and more easy to crash on hard terrain!

Don't confuse being complicated with being witty. Be reasonable, son.

If you want to know more about some of the reasons why fixing mp as an working and rewarding experience is not that simple, just have a look at what you quoted ;)

Do these settings hinder performance for online play? Or to go the fastest that you can you have to use a setting that makes it more arcadey?

I am not sure is it just me or do other players think that tuning should be like this?

TIRES

-choose only between tyre types (mud, sand, etc...) and developers make it to have realistic grip.

SUSPENSION

-settings for fast and slow rebound and hard and soft spring.

BRAKES

-far right only rear brake and far left only front brake. Middle setting should be 50/50. also less aggressive brakes, so you need to brake more. (sometimes even for the outside line).

SPROCKET

- far left setting for faster acceleration and far right for top speed. this setting should be somewhere in middle on nationals. now it is always far left.

CHASSIS

- i have no ideas for this settings.

ENGINE

- throttle response time far left narrow powerband (should wheel more) and far right wider powerband.

Tuning should have much less impact on the game than it does now have.

Suspension is compression damping, chassis is rebound damping
