How to play this game?
It's my first time to play a such game, a walking simulator, so I wonder how to play it. Should I press the keyboard or move the mouse?

This is clearly controller- game. You lean back, put headphones and relax. Put yourself on Zen- mood and explore island. There's nothing to do. Just walk where you can go. It's not open world. It may be boring, but this is kind of meditation with computer. If you want action that's not for you.

Like the captain said. I wish people would read the store page notes and watch the demo video before installing a game. The walking sim genre was invented in 2008, and I been playing them ever since, I guess it's my normal, we even have a group where we share similar games now https://steamcommunity.com/groups/walkingsimulator.

The internet of huge choice has probably made us lazy, and games with totally simple control systems drive us nuts. I mean there are games on the store now which only have like 2 keys you can press the entire game, no mouse no nothing. Simplicity and reduction is fine art, not everyone is into art. So I struggle to understand why they made this game free today. But it's a free world, hope you enjoy something new, and relaxing.

I've known how to play this game: just press the keyboard, the four keys WASD help you walk and trigger the plot.

Sweet stuff . Was hard to know, so many folk picked this up for freebie and a good few were trolling people too.

Do you mean that I'm trolling people? If you do think so, I sincerely want you know that I only wonder how to play this game and trigger the plot, I don't want to offend people like you.^^

Not offended, just found that a happy place got invaded by loads and loads of people picking up a copy of the game for free. So many were not even understanding that it's not a "game" it's a graphical novel and then go storm off upset that a thing they got for free was not what they expected.

To be fair, I initially also thought, huh, just one key to press the whole game? But since then I have also learned a large number of similar low impact and high accessibility games around. Glad you did enjoy this game though @Yú rán

That could confuse people, visual novels are another genre: https://www.mobygames.com/genre/sheet/visual-novel/

Um, "Hentai" are not really novels, they are "pulp". Esther is actually for me similar though once you remove the "pulp" titles from that kind of list. It's also a bit wrong to call Esther a novel, because it is a "Mystery" - and strictly very few games will lie entirely in a genre. It's a bit like rock music, games are.
