Completely stuck on the first level? Need some help.
So I just barely completed "the lighthouse" chapter, and came to an area with a big boat and some writing on the side. I cannot for the life of me figure out what I am supposed to do here to progress. I have traversed the entire area maybe 6 times already, and can't figure out what to do or where to go to continue. Trying to avoid looking up a walkthrough so I can avoid spoilers, but I'm making no progress here. Can someone point me in the right direction?

keep walking along, go back up above that beach, the small container wreck is just a area off the track. The aim of the game is to look for higher ground, not lower. The game, contrary to what a lot of people may say is really well designed so that even when you do backtrack, you have something to look at, but generally move toward the blinking red tower. I mean that's about as simple a game mechanic device as one could hope for.

I had the same issue a couple of times.

What finally got me back on track was remembering that exploration games (even ones like this one that are pretty much "interactive fiction") sometimes hide things in plain sight. So every once in a while, it's a good idea to turn around and see if you missed a trailhead. And if something looks like it might be the start of a path, maybe it is, even if it's not obvious where it is going to end up.

Also, there are a couple of places in the game where you're supposed to jump (or fall) into deep scary holes in the ground. At least I did with no ill consequences.
