What is the difference, if any, between this and the other "Dear Esther" game?
I bought both and the other version is on my top 5 "VN" like games of all times. But I just found this in my account and I wish I had time today to play it. Just real quick though, is there anything different between this version and the other one?

Landmark Edition looks worse.

Landmark Edition looks absolutely beautiful!!! It is breathtakingly beautiful. The caves man .. oh the caves! This is how the game was meant to look. I would recommend visiting the island again just to enjoy the beauty. As for other differences.. hmm some things seemed clearer this time around. But can't tell for sure what, if anything, might have been changed. Even if nothing was changed and provided you didn't already unlock all of the dialogues previously, this would be a good time to revisit.

Oh, I was already excited to do so, but before going through the game again, I was just curious and I truly give you my thanks.

Only difference = achievements.

The sound has been remastered, and there is an optional director's comment audio track (Jessica Curry, Dan Pinchbeck and Robert Briscoe discuss various aspects of Dear Esther)

All in all, it's definitely worth a replay!

Surround sound works properly now with this version.

I didn't see the shadow figures, I know I seen them in the orginal version.

They are still present in the Landmark Edition, though some look slightly different, I think.

From the looks of it, the game visuals seem to have gotten a slight upgrade. Still looks tremendously beautiful. Recently installed it (didn't even know I HAD the Landmark Edition in my Steam library...thank you Steam!) and em enjoying this beautiful game once again. Havent recahed the caves yet,though...only on the 2nd level.

I am around the same state as you with how the game is to me. I want to play it, feel about the same, but still haven't yet though.

* Vegetation looks better, thicker, and more varied. It has a nice light/shadow effect as if it was affected by the clouds' movement. It also moves with the wind, so when you hear the wind pick up you see the grass move more.
* You see more leaves and particles moving in the air.
* Slightly nicer lighting, feels like a 5% increase to contrast.
* Certain objects were changed slightly or emphasized more.
* Commentary, achievements.

All in all, this is a faithful port with some tweaks and upgraded grass. Just a good excuse to replay the game.

Do a research or at least read the description, would you?

Speaking as somone who did, in fact, read the description and I honestly played the other version, I was curious and I asked the question. Thank you for an unwanted and quite honestly, unneeded smartalex comment and I am truly thankful you wasted my time to read it.
