Run the GoG version of the game, the steam one dont works.
Run IPA as administrator.
Try some of the compatibility modes with ipa and dear esther ( win 8, win 7)
Try another VRGIN tested game ( or more than one if u can).
Anyway im gonna try to run the game again with my vive ( been a long time since last time i played) to check if something change in the new steamvr releases and the game dont even work now.
Regards.
I have to buy again on Gog? I got the Landmark for free having the old version here.
Other than Subnautica, that vork by itself, i don't have other of the listed games, i have some others in Unity but none of them works, like Ziggurath on Gog.
There shouldn't be any difference if i'm using a Vive, a Rift or a Wmr, as Steam fully support it, and the SteamVr for Wmr it's here for that, so you can use almost anything out of the store whitout thinkering.
And not sure if vrgin can handle the new stuff implemented in steamvr, cos the programmer dont update the plugin since a veeeery long time ago, and at this time steam vr dont even support WMR headsets.
Regards.
I'm not gonna buy Vorpx just to see if it works, if it had a demo i would try, but i won't throw 30€ in the dark!
At the moment Subnautica it's the only game that i've tryied in vr, and was one who i swear i've never played in vr 'cause i'm a wuss for anything ocean/sea/water related, but i gave it a try to see a couple of scenes, and i'm alredy ok, i won't push too much my lucky star XD
I been testing some of the games in my new pc ( most of them installed in a HD i pick from the old one) and when i launched Firewatch... it started in VR
After trying lot of weird stuff, i find the way to do Dear Esther start in VR too, and probably in more games who stop working with the old way to use the plugin, so this workaround may work with more games, if you try any, please tell us if works, we want more VR games!!
And now the how to...
Install the VRGIN template from https://github.com/Eusth/VRGIN.Template as usuall ( uncompress in the game folder and move the game .exe into IPA.exe), now instead use the shortcut created by VRGIN you must create your own shortcut to the game exe, then edit the properties of the shortcut and in destination add --vr at the end ( as example my "G:\GoG Games\Dear Esther - Landmark Edition\DearEsther.exe" --vr ). Now start the game using this shortcut and enjoy :D.
If you have the game on steam or wanna use steam as launcher to use steam controller or whatever, you can add --vr parameter to launch options and works the same.
Regards,
When I was last able to use VRGIN, I couldn't find a way to force snap turning (I was playing Dear Esther). Smooth turning is quite uncomfortable for me, even with 4 years of VR experience now - I guess some people just can't get used to that.
Has anyone found a workaround for enabling some sort of comfortable turning option in these games?
When I have some free time, I'll play around a bit in the hopes of finding a solution.
The Depth map flip had to be checked. You will probably want to crank up the Divergence slider to a higher value.
Regards.
Amazing!
