GG SCRIPT MASTER : Can be found in Unreal Anime Mods Discord under Xrd - Resources

UPK EXPLORER for UE3 and PNG TO DDS CONVERTER : Can be found in a pinned msg in Arcsys Modding Discord under Xrd-Mods / On the Nexusmod page there is a seprate download for a PNG to DDS converter, DOWNLOAD THIS IT IS IMPORTANT

PHOTOSHOP and or any other photo editing software : There is a old version of Photoshop found in Chole ! 's guide for making custom previews, can be found in the Arcsys Modding Discord under palmod-guides
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step by Step part 1 : Decrypting the MAT.upk File

1. Open the local files for Xrd. Can be done through steam by right clicking on the application and going to manage > browse local files

2. Open REDengine and then Open CookedPCCConsole

3. You are looking for the MAT.upk files of your character and your colour. For Example, you would be looking for this type of file name "INO_MAT_XXXX_SF.upk"
Futher more, there is a list of alt colors in the Unreal Anime Mods under Xrd - Resources. Either way just find which mat correlates to your color.

4. Copy your wanted MAT.upk file

5. Put the MAT.upk into the Extracted folder which is found in the GG SCRIPT MASTER folder.

6. Press the Decrypt Tool in the GG SCRIPT MASTER folder

7. Also press "1_Export GGxrd_Textures" Tool

8. Your MAT.upk should now be found in the Decrypted Files Folder of GG SCRIPT MASTER. You have Decypted your MAT.upk file.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step by Step part 2 : Exporting the Textures

1. Copy the path of your Decrypted Files Folder.

2. Open the UModel in the GG SCRIPT MASTER folder

3. Paste your path on the prompt "Path to Game Files"

4. Tick the Override Game Detection box

5. Choose "Unreal Engine 3" in the first box, and then choose "Guilty Gear Xrd" in the second box

6. Press OK

7. It will take you to the package selection page with your Mat.upk file. Select your file and open it

8. You are now currently navigating through all the textures of your selected color file. IF you want to edit the textures of your char, look for "NAME_base"
it should be this mesh with a couple of eyeballs and other things you may remember from your color. Other items such as weapons have their own textures which I am sure you can find.

9. Once you have found your needed textures, press "Tools" and "Export Current Object"

10. Export Options will appear and will ask you which folder you would like to export the texture to. You can either create a folder for UModel to export to, or press ok and have UModel auto generate a folder called "UmodelExports"

11. Either way of how you do it, You will have a folder with the name of your MAT.upk inside your texture folder.

12. You have now exported the Textures of your MAT.upk file to your PC.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step by Step part 3 : Editing the Textures

1. This step is a gonna be a bit for free form cause you can use most photo editing programs in order to edit the textures. I personally use the photoshop program found in chole's guide mention above.

THE FOLLOWING STEPS ARE FOR PHOTOSHOP USERS AND HOW I PERSONALLY MADE RECOLORS, THERE ARE MULTIPLE WAYS OF DOING THIS, CHOOSE WHATEVER SUITS YOU.

2. Open the "NAME_base" texture in photoshop and go to Image > Mode > Indexed Colors > Color tables

3. A menu should pop up whith a wide selection of colors and if you are familiar with palmodding and using the palmod tool, then this should be very familiar for you.

4. Overall, edit the texture however you like and be sure to save said texture as a PNG.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Step by Step Part 4 : Converting your PNG into a DDS

1. Grab your Decrypted File from the Decrypted File Folder from GG SCRIPT MASTER folder.

2. Put your Decrypted Mat.upk file in its own folder.

3. Open the UPK Explorer Application

4. Set the "Working Folder" as the same folder you put your Decrypted Mat.upk in

5. At the bottom of the menu there should be three options, Standard, Advanced, and Experimental/Devloper. Set your option as Advanced.

6. A new option should appear in the menu that says "Open UPK File". Choose that and select your UPK

7. There should now be a option that says "Export X DDS" Select it.

8. Go Back to the folder where you put your Mat.upk in and now there should be another folder named "Game_V868.3"

9. In this folder are two more folders, One called "Imports" and one called "Exports"

10. go into "Exports" you'll find a number of subfolders, labelled like PF_DXT1, PF_DXT5. These are pixel formats

11. check each folder and find the texture you want to replace. for example if we are finding a INO_base texture, we will be trying to find something like ino_mat_0103.Textures.INO_base

12. Next find your NAME_base png and put it into its own folder

13. Make a Folder named DDS output

14. Run the PNG to DDS Application

15. Go to the Dropdown menu and SELECT THE FOLDER NAME OF THE TEXTURE YOU FOUND IN THE EXPORTS FOLDER

For example, I found ino_mat_0103.Textures.INO_base in PF_DXT5 folder. So at this dropdown menu I selected DXT5. DO NOT FORGET THIS STEP.

16. Once you selected the correct format hit the Convert PNGS to DDS button

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Step by Step Part 5 : The Endgame

1. With the converted PNG to DDs texture, rename it exactly as the texture you found in the Exports Folder.

For example I once I had my INO_base DDs image, I renamed it exactly as ino_mat_0103.Textures.INO_base

2. Replace the texture in the export folder with your converted and renamed texture in the same subfolder/PF_DXT Folder.

3. Take the newly replaced ino_mat_0103.Textures.INO_base into the imports folder with the same subfolder/PF_DXT folder.

4. Go back to UPK explorer window, and go to the Inject Textures tab and hit refresh.

5. check if your modified texture is there and hit "Inject Textures and Save a Copy"

6. The copy is saved in the same folder where you put the decrypted Mat.upk file

7. Rename the copy .upk file the same as the decrypted upk.

8. Place the Renamed upk. into either a modloader or back into the CookedPCConsole folder and then CONGRATULATIONS YOU DID IT
