Xbox Controller buttons all mixed up.
I am using an Xbox controller, and the game seems to have all the buttons jumbled up.

It thinks the "A" button is the "Y" button, the "X" is the "A", the "A" is the "Y", the start button is the "RB" for some reason, and so on, everything is more or less random. It doesn't even recognize the right or left triggers at all, it won't accept any input from them period.

Now I could go in to the bindings and re-bind every single action to get things where they should be (i.e. let the game think I'm pressing Y, while I'm actually pressing A, etc) but has anyone else had this issue? Is this a known thing I could fix? The controller's never done this for any other game.

Try disabling (or enabling) Steam Input for this game. It's my usual suspect when I see people talking about controller issues. Aside from that, you might want to check that your controller is not actually a DirectInput one (which would explain buttons being swapped around and triggers not working), or that it doesn't have a mode switch currently set to DirectInput mode (Logitech controllers in particular have that).

Yep, that took care of it. Enabling Steam Input seems to have fixed the issue completely, all buttons are now behaving as intended.

Thank you very much for the advice, I've never had any issues with controllers in the past so this was the first time I'd even heard of Steam Input.
