  3. Misc

1. Bundles
So, for the uninitiated or for those new to Guilty Gear and want to buy the latest version, have no fear. (Updated 10/12/22)

Excluding sale prices at various dates, here's how much what bundle of Rev 2 should you get, well...

A. Guilty Gear Xrd - Rev 2: $29.99
-All 5 DLC characters [Raven/Haehyun/Dizzy/Baiken/Answer] plus Rev 2 upgrade.

B. Guilty Gear Xrd - Rev 2 Deluxe Edition: $39.99
-All 5 DLC characters [Raven/Haehyun/Dizzy/Baiken/Answer] plus Rev 2 upgrade.
-Colors 18-23 and System Voices for all characters.
-Elphelt's Sign Costume.
(All DLC is included.)

2. Unlockables
Here's what you can unlock in-game...(However, Raven and Elphelt's Sign Costume are quick unlock DLC. Which is optional, unless otherwise bought from bundles.)

Colors 7-11/12-16 and 17: 7-11 and 12-16 can be unlock per character for 10K W$ each in the gallery while 17 can only be earned in Episode Mode after clearing it with each character once. You can also fish for colors 7-16 for everyone, but they will only come in singles and will not discount the bundles in the gallery and will prompt you what colors you earned for that specific character.

Raven: Raven can be unlocked in-game either by fishing (very RNG based) or by spending 200K W$ in the gallery when you highlight it.

Elphelt's Sign Costume: Can be unlocked in-game by fishing (very RNG based) or by spending 100K W$ in the gallery when you highight it.

Themes: Various music themes from previous GG's to present can be unlocked in-game by fishing or by spending 4000 W$ from the gallery.

Various Gallery Content: Can be unlocked in-game either from the game's gallery or by fishing, the values range from 500 to 2000 W$. (Some may have to be unlocked from Episode and/or Story mode first for it to appear, some will not have prices, some will.)

R-Code Content: Icons: 1000 W$ / Plates: 5000 W$ / Titles: 100 W$ Each. (Can also be fished.)

Fishing only unlocks: Various Avatar Heads, Body Colors, and emotions. Parts for Digital Figure Mode (First time character choice is free.), and the System Voices for the Sign cast (minus Slayer).

GG World: 422 Entries will be unlocked by watching all of the Main Story and After Story A through C.

3. Misc
Version Switching: With the Release of Rev 2. Like in Accent Core +R, you can switch between game versions and balance from the options menu within Revelator = Rev 2. The differences include...
-Changes in certain character normals, like Sol's and Ky's forward HS for Example.
-New Special Moves added for characters like Elphelt and Ramlethal.
-Baiken and Answer, obviously.
-A bevy of additional unlockable content added for Rev 2.

Be aware that both Baiken/Answer cannot be played on the Revelator toggle, as well as a few videos in the gallery that needs Rev 2 to be toggled first. [The episode intros/endings for Jam/Raven/Haehyun/Dizzy/Baiken/Answer], also, due to the version switching, the online mode has seperate lobbies and rooms. If the person or friends that don't have Rev 2 yet, you'll have to switch back to Revelator in order to play those people (for those on their friends list).

State of Online: As it is, the playerbase of the online mode has been shifted to Rev 2, as usually when a new version of a fighter is out, people will jump ship to it. Also be aware your stats from Rev 1 and 2 online are separate, which includes your Ranked Match progress. Your replays, and other things. And since people have moved onto Rev 2, Revelators' current online base may have dwindled, but at least you have the option to switch back to play those people, despite the playerbase split.

However, with the repricing/repacking, it is now easier to get the Rev 2 upgrade for $1 (or regional equivalent). That, and rollback implementation.

Also, since the release of Rev 2 on PC, the lobbies from the console version are finally added.

Differences in the online modes: So as to not confuse people...
-Ranked Match: Play in online matches to increase your rank number to become the strongest. With the release of Rev 2, rematches for best 2 out of 3 are added.
-Player Match: Up to 8 players can play casual matches with a variety of settings. Added in Rev 2 player rooms, is the option to spectate mid-match during a fight when you go in a players line. Also, goalposts to play the soccer game, lol.
-Lobby: A place where you can play lots of people in an outdoor looking setting with arcade cabinets set up around, chat and have a good time. Up to 64 players can be in a room at once. Added in Rev 2, is the lobby makes a bit of an update with 3 big monitors for info screens, a special cabinent in the middle of the lobby for best 3 out of 5 matches, and a chance to find treasure chests daily (what's inside of them are random, but mostly chances to unlock in-game content, or fishes if you've already acquired them before).

When you have the time, you should also add stuffs about the state of Rev 1 & Rev 2 online, the state of ranked, world lobbies & player rooms since that's also frequently asked.

Also, perhaps it's best to rephrase the C. bundle as including all '25 characters' instead of saying it includes '3 DLC characters + Baiken & Answer' since it's essentially the same thing, otherwise this might drive people to think bundle C doesn't include all characters.

Finally a reply, thanks, I'll update it shortly with your remarks, cause it still seems users still make seperate topics for the same questions and either probably never checking the FAQ regardless.

This has nothing to do with the FAQ though, I'm not sure what you mean by cannot go online, of course you can. Though it varies when either people are on. Mostly on Rev 2 balance.

Thanks for this fabulous guide. So, if I'm understanding correctly, the the last bundle (D) contains everything non optional (beside raven), leaving only colours palette 7-17 (I believe 1-6 come by default) to be manually unlocked or, are they still already unlocked with this bundle?

No, that would probably be A., D. is a "compete package".

But yeah, Colors 7-17 have to be unlocked through normal gameplay.

Can the Steam thumbnail art of Revelator change to the Rev2 thumbnail art once updated? Id much rather have the awesome Rev2 thumbnail art than the plain looking "Revelator" version.

If this can be updated, Thatd be great!

Nope, you cannot, but you can add that thumbnail art onto your steam client and add that image onto it once highlighting to "games grid" and set custom image.

Does

package B +
GUILTY GEAR Xrd REV2 Upgrade + All REV2 DLCs (Colors & SystemVoice) Bundle
(https://store.steampowered.com/sub/180639/)

equal to package D content?

The sum of the two is cheaper than package D so I'm inclined to think it must be missing something...

13,85€+
11,49€=
----------
25,34€

vs the 27,49€ of package D.
