Depending on the DS4 controller, sometimes I use the D-Pad and sometimes the analog stick.
I used a Hayabusa for like 2 years until recently (pcb in stick broke it seems) and now I'm looking to upgrade the Qanba Carbon I got with Seimitsu parts (probably the LS-62-01 stick, PS-15 buttons). Using the default stick/buttons right now though, which aren't terrible but hard to go back to after using a Hayabusa/Kuro combo for so long. Still a hell of a lot better than using a controller once you get over the learning curve.
You can just switch the lever and buttons over to the new stick.
I don't think the Qanba Carbon has enough clearance space to fit a Hayabusa comfortably without modification and I didn't really want to mod the stick (plus I don't have the tools to do that) since I'll probably end up putting it another stick in the future for my brother.
I wanted to try other sticks anyway, I liked the Hayabusa a lot but I think the Seimitsu's tighter feel would work for me. I'm pretty sure I used one once at a gaming convention and I liked it a lot. I think the LS-62-01 will be similar to the one I used back then, even if it's not the exact same thing. It was either an LS-62 or a LS-32, it was stick with a shorter shaft and I'm pretty sure it had an octogonal gate (and a white ball-top). But it was fantastical for shoot'em ups.
I do want a stick or Hit Box (or both) eventually. But that's down the line, maybe when I get more money/new apartment.
