About how long is the story mode?

Is it like, absurdly long like Blazblue Centralfiction was (I played through that game's story recently)? And is there any kind of plot refresher at the start like BBCF had?

Yep. Think of it as a long anime movie.

It's also seperated into Chapters, so you can save or return from where you left of. I think you can also save wherever you want, for that matter.

Well, not only that, but if you happen to upgrade to Rev 2, after finishing the Story Mode, you'll be able to watch After Story A, B, and C.

No gameplay, just cutscenes, like others have said around 5-6 hours. Each character has their own arcade mode story though, including a few cutscenes, this does have gameplay.

I actually want to say it's ~4ish hours if I remember YouTube correctly. But I could be wrong (can't check at work currently). But if you enjoy watching anime, it's well worth it. Especially the After Stories.

But so then, it's advisable to first play arcade mode and then watch story mode?
