PSA: On which bundle to purchase
Steam sales is in, and we know the lot of you newcomers are eager to get this but dunno which one to get? To make things simpler, If you're on a budget, get this one:

"GUILTY GEAR Xrd -REVELATOR- (+DLC Characters) + REV 2 All-in-One (does not include optional DLCs)"

You'll get access to all characters, story & all game content for the least amount of money.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The only thing you'll be missing out on would be

- extra 5 DLC colour options for each character (base game already has around 17 unlockable in-game)

- Alternate announcer voices (each voiced by each character)

- Elphelt's Xrd Sign costume unlocked on the go (otherwise this can be unlocked via in-game money)

If you want these extras, grab the more expensive similarly named bundle instead.

Hi!, what about buying the deluxe edition of revelator? i'm not interested in the new characters, is there any content (apart of the characters) i get lost? thx for the answer!

Thank you!
I just noticed however that since I own Sign, it might be cheaper for me to get the "GUILTY GEAR Xrd REV2 + All REV2 DLCs Bundle" (13,29€) and "GUILTY GEAR Xrd Complete (Standard) BUNDLE" (12,59€) for a total of 28,68€. The bundle you pointed out costs 29,39€ which isn't much of a difference, but still. Would these contain the same stuff?

do not buy the Revelator deluxe edition because.. :

- If you buy it, you'll get DLC colors & alternate announcers but you'll miss out on the Rev 2 characters & Rev 2 story expansion.

- buying revelator deluxe won't give you Rev 2, and as a result won't let you play with Rev 2 players which is where the majority of the playerbase is at.

in other words, why buy the base game when you can get everything with the bundle I recommended. And if the few DLC colors & alternate announcers matter to you, then you should get a similarly named bundle but with all the optional DLCs included.

Whoa careful there. Doing that, you will miss out on Revelator's DLC characters. You could switch out "GUILTY GEAR Xrd Complete (Standard) BUNDLE" with the Complete (Deluxe) Bundle to get all of Revelator's DLC characters, but you'd end up spending way more than if you just buy the bundle I suggested in the OP instead.

Plus, since you've already owned Sign, it's a waste to get the complete bundles (unless it's voided when you purchase it. But I've heard that the price for items you already owned in bundles don't get excluded, idk though).

So do yourself a favor & get "GUILTY GEAR Xrd -REVELATOR- (+DLC Characters) + REV 2 All-in-One (does not include optional DLCs)" instead. Like I said, all you'll be missing out on are DLC colours & alternate announcers voices.

Well, the price of deluxe revelator isnt that much far off from the price of the bundle im suggesting. So why not just get that instead?

I dont think the price is going much lower than that soon. Well, if you're not in a hurry its up to you to wait though.

Can I get the one from OP and then, let's say for future sales, upgrade to the whole dlc version?

Unfortunately, none that I know of. Personally, I have Deluxe Revelator & then upgraded to normal Rev 2 when it came out via Rev 2's separate store page (not the deluxe version that has DLC colors & announcer voices for Baiken & Answer), and I can't upgrade it to Deluxe Rev 2.

You can purchase the missing items separately however, via the Revelator store page. It's an added cost however.

Which is why it's important to at least get the one suggested in the OP for your first purchase into Xrd. If you want the extra DLCs & can afford the slightly more expensive bundle however, then by all means go for that one instead.

But like I said, they're just trivial extras & if you're on a budget, get the one in the OP instead.

Bumping until sales period end.

I love you, I was just about to buy the £30 version with the optional DLC'S thinking I'd miss out on characters.
NeoStrayCat Nov 27, 2017 @ 10:49am
Yeah, technically, I already mentioned letters for which bundles to get, I suppose not a lot of people saw them as A. B. C. D. when maybe I should have wrote 1. 2. 3. 4. on them, lol.
Don Bone Nov 27, 2017 @ 3:01pm
Yeah, i suppose people dont expect to see the topic on purchase in a FAQ thread.

At any rate, it'd save us more trouble if people can spend that time asking in a new thread everytime by actually searching and looking around for a bit instead.

So, beside Ephelt's Xrd Sign costume which can be bought with ingame money, the others need to be bought separately?

In short, yes. via real money at the storepage's DLC section. If you want all those other extras as well, it's cheaper to just get the bundle with all DLCs.

So if you're on a budget, I recommend buying the bundle I mentioned. You get all characters & the latest version.
