Can't get past tutorial
Hello, i'm at the roman cancel part, but it's confusing. I do the 1+2+3+4 hits, then try hitting all 3 buttons at once, but the little cat thing is either too far away, or there is too much of a delay nothing activates.

Have you tried hitting L1 (or LB I believe on xbox controller) this will act as the three button press. Might help with the timing.
Hi, i'm using the stream controller with default, but i'll try it.

after you press the 3 buttons to roman cancel.. try dashing in closer real quick before you continue hitting it.

This is what you need to do. Dash in and hit a 6p a few times, or start the combo up again. It might take a few times but you should get the rhythm.

Oh and when people put numbers in front of P,K,S,HS, or D like 6p, they indicate directional input. It's just a universal language for directional inputs. It's supposed to represent like the number pad. So 2 is down, 4 is back, 6 is forward, and 8 is up.. and so on. Hope that helps

All good advice, did you get the roman cancel down?

Beauty of GG Rev is the technical side, while difficult, is satisfying to nail down the combos.

No luck yet, I think I might just be really terrible at it.

I had a fair bit of difficulty with this particular tutorial myself. Picked up the game yesterday and it seems like a great FG. Really dig the asthetics of the game and the tutorials. I'm thinking that a standard xbox controller might not be ideal for this type of game. Especially for moves that require one to do a Z type movement. I find those near impossible to replicate on my controller. Anyways seems like a very deep fighting game.

Indeed it is a deep game. I play on PS4 and have enjoyed it quite a bit. Can feel a bit held back, especially at first, using a controller.

I say keep going at it though, as its definitely playable.
Is the Steam Controller good for fighting games? The D-Pad is very, very large.

Very large.
Came to this thread because I had the same problem. Didn't help much, but I did manage to finish the RC tutorial.

What you have to understand is that a Roman Cancel isn't an attack. it temporarily slows down time during a combo so that you can dash to close the distance between you and the opponent and continue the combo.
