Revelator 2 PS4 PRO vs PC? Also: DualShock 4 vs Keyboard?
Hey there,
I played the original Guilty Gear XX Reload on PC for years, long time ago.
Recently returned to Guilty Gear XRD when it came out and played it for a few weeks.
Never been a fighter expert and it takes me very long to get accustomed reasonably to a character, so I didn't play many. Nor am I any good at pullong off expert combos, such as frame-press-perfect combos.
I just play by ear and improvise.

XRD I played with Keyboard. Tried the pad for a while.

My questions are which versions would you prefer:
Player count? PS4 version said to have much more players including PS3, PS4 and PS4 Pro.

Net code? Is it true that Steam has it better?
Lag and stability?
Resolution and framerate (pc obviously) but PS4 still sleek 1080p 60fps.

Oh I live in Israel and worried about matchmaking, finding servers (which was hard sometimes on Steam XRD ) and lag.

Prices and buying is much preferable and easier to purchase on Steam

Argh.. can't decide.
Also I am waiting for the Rev2+1 Bundle, when will it appear in store and what's the price gonna be?

Oh I forgot, I consider buying the PS4 version from Amazon USA maybe (if I don't stick to PC). Would that have some kind of Region Lock issues? And how exactly?
PS4 is region free so no.

True. Thanks. I was only worried that due to it being a US version it will offer only Americas matches or something. Though it's highly unlikely.

Onething to worry about if you buy a US or whichever version - its DLC will be Region Locked. Meaning if Rev3 DLC arrives for instance it will require buying US version specifically. .. which can be VERY problematic for those outside the US. (For example). In that regard -STEAM has the upper hand.

How do you tell people to play on the consoles versions yet you own the game on Steam? Which version are you playing on anyhow?

Also guys - I am still interested in hearing answers about what I asked above. What kind of a controller is commonly used by PC players of GG ? (keyboard, DS4, stick, DS3, XB1 etc..)?

What do you guys think of Logitech Orion G610 Red / Brown switch for fighter games and GG specficially?

As someone who owns both the PS4 and PC version of this game, while there are plenty of people playing in the EU for PC, PS4 has a way bigger population.
Does the PC version have more players in the EU than consoles?

Again, you can't discuss about facts. Look at the stat pages for online activity. You cannot deny reality. The sky will be blue even if you'd like it to be yellow all day. I don't own a PS4 anymore, I would love PC to dominate, but its not the case.

Anyways, the way I see it, there are two kinds of people in this world - the ones who like digimon and then those that dont.

Unless you live in the Far East or Arabian Peninsula :D where sky is quite often yellow and brown.
Sorry for the late reply, Ransom Seraph, I was pretty unwell yesterday after the post. Going to breakdown your post and answer what I can.

Question is does the delay (ping) and population big for the EU and say Middle-East too on the PS4? And is it superior to PC?
The connection seems pretty consistent on both the systems, it's very hard to pinpoint where people are because in the EU we all (or all used to) go to the French lobbies. Not exactly the EU but for reference from Wales to Russia I have a delay of 4 frames.

Also do you prefer Keyboard or DS4 controller or some special stick?
I use and prefer a stick myself, but have used a DS4 controller here and there.
Also I've seen people who have incredible execution with a keyboard, so play what feels comfortable to you.

So, what do most PC gamers of GG use?
I know a bunch of people who use all three but if I made a guesstimate it'd be Controller > Stick > Keyboard

Does the PC version have more players in the EU than consoles?
Someone argued the otherday that it does but from what I can see the EU has way more player on the PS4.

That's not to say the lobbies are dead for the PC EU, yesterday there was 3 almost full rooms and full rooms don't appear for some reason which may give an illusion. - If you got the PC version you'll find rooms(or make your own which will allow it to fill up quickly). - The only times I've had a hard time finding games is around 4AM give or take.

Edit: some cleanup

PC offers a superior experience. I can play in gorgeous 4k with less input lag and the online was smooth that ps4 in rev 1. Sure the player base is less but I tend to play with the same people. A lot of Eu players are on PC and you can always find someone to play on discord. A worthwhile trade off for the benefits mentioned above IMO.

Also to add to this, the PC version has lower input lag and you're able to lower it even more through various settings.

Yup, I believe you can get it down to 1f of lag? ps4 has 4f so playing online with a 2f delay is still faster than ps4 offline!
I'm sure you may have seen it before but other people participating in the thread might find it interesting:

As far as controllers go I use 360 controller, myself.

Pad vs Keyboard?
mmmh.... Arcade Stick.
One compatible with PC and PS4, so if you wanna play on PS4 you can.
There are really cheap one, which you can change Stick and buttons to feel better.
It's all about habits. You can be the best one with using a potato.
I feel better with Arcade stick.
Because
1) Fully customizable. You can change everything.
2) Best consistency. It's all about habits but I see (IMHO) I've a way better control of the character, and I can do the same thing other and other again.
3) One hand on movements, one on buttons. (same for keyboards)

Whatever works.

I have boxes of sticks, controllers, HOTAS sets, and other stuff I've tried over the years.
