Untrusted system file: steamclient64.dll

When I try to launch the game, I get this error and the game fails to open.

I have tried verifying the cache, uninstalling/ re-installing the game and steam. Nothing has fixed this problem.

I don't know if this is due to the 'ban wave' but I haven't been on in weeks (regardless, I don't cheat).

Is anyone else having this problem? Does anyone have any solutions?

Only the files inside, not the entire folder.

So my system says that is a .dll file, i dont know much about computer stuff, is that going to be the same as a file that ends in sys?

The .sys file is in EasyAntiCheat folder in your x86 files, not the one within the game folder.
My location is PC > SSD (C:) > Program Files (x86) > EasyAntiCheat

+1 having the same issue with Apex Legends

Followed the same steps that someone outlined before, but no luck. I think I've tried everything, the only left is for me to use Origin to play Apex lol

yeah i have the same thing im waiting in discord watching my ranked teamate redownloading the game. if anyone knows another fix pls send this way

I deleted the files from the easyanticheat folder, managed to enter the new world characters menu but I couldn't enter any server, so I fixed the files and now it came back with the same initial error...

Definitely Steam update's problem. I just had my roommate successfully launching his Apex Legends via Steam, update steam client, and then run into the same problem as us. Hopefully a fix from Steam side will be online soon.

I've tried multiple combinations of reinstall/uninstalls + verifying + restarting steam/pc. Nothing's worked so far. I've given up ngl, been trying for almost 2hrs now.

yeah i deleted the whole file after only deleting the anticheat.sys thing not working and it wouldnt let me on apex so i just deleted and redownloading, hopefully this works

Hey guys, friends and I were having the same issue. Found out our steamclient64.dll file was 3KB larger than another friend whose game was working perfectly, so we had him send us his steamclient64.dll file and we're now playing. Link for anyone who wants to try. Not sure if there is any kind of consequences to this but we're gaming for now.

I tried doing this and it let me at least launch the game, but I couldn't join any servers cause of 2 different errors ingame. Tried validating my game files, and it just replaced the 2 files I deleted, and now I'm back to not being able to launch the game
