On - Off grid and snap to grid option
I'd love to be able to place objects symmetrically along my paths!
A grid for simple placement of objects and symmetrical path building would make this game for me!

I believe this is already a thing?

The only grid I've seen is for building - Buildings!
If you know of another grid for placing objects symmetrically or a grid snap to paths, please let me know!

You can do that with straight paths without a grid (by moving the duplicate prop only in the x axis after aligning the first one. But for curved paths, that functionality would be great. Frontier already uses something similar (path contouring) for placing bins and benches, so doing the same for things like lights, rails, fences or bushes would be gravy.

Thanks, Just seems an on-off grid option wouldn't be a big deal for the developers to add.

I agree with you, Hointar. It would be nice to have a full-size grid that you can turn on or off for those that love working with grids.

Let's hope the devs will apply this option in the beta!
I know it would increase my play time 2 fold!

This grid should be a fixed grid with maybe 3-4 settings. The closer you view your work the smaller the grid becomes to really zoom in and place objects symmetrically.
Such as lights, benches, bins etc.! To also place buildings square to your paths.
An option for a fixed grid system would also really aid in building paths symmetrically.
I love this game and believe this would be a great improvement to this game!

I hope it is the finished game also, as it is really a plus for me. It would make it so easy to place things.

There is a grid option in paths, you click on grid , it is in the list and oh my ghosh it is so nice, I love it. So much easier to place paths

This is something i noticed yesterday while streaming.

Also on paths can anyone tell me if there is a problem ith them?
I can't just seem to sometimes create symetrical paths with this new grid system. The paths just dont connect to each other.

sometimes I have to stop the grid to connect. I do not know why. It seems to then automatic connect.

I know of the grid for paths, it's ok for for some straight and 90 degree turns, but it doesn't stay on for object placement.

Actually just the oppisit, it is however a nightmare at the start to learn "how to be" a perfectionist :)

Allot of things happily are going to change, devs have taken notes :) which will be a whole new learning curve on the next release, but they should be really good changes. Nice thing is, most of these are just simple little fixes to were things are and how to manipulate.
