AI Assistant
For the purpose of this post I will call the AI my AI assistant or partner.

I didn't realize until after reading here that pressing the set/pass button and then dir joystick sets where the AI plays. No wonder I was getting all those AI will block here messages.

I prefer to give up the couple points I might get from blocking so I like the AI to play rear defense because I'm not good enough to cover the whole backfield:)

So when setting/passing a ball I know it's best to press the set/pass button after the opponent hits the ball and then move the joystick to get to it.

Problem is many times that is doing where the assist AI plays espceially if I go fwd to set then then I get the AI block at the net which I don't want. Not always but enough it's messing me up.

It appears moving the joystick first then a pass button aleviates that problem but possibly costing me a timing move.

Or course I can reset the AI place before the next volley.

Am I missing something? Or can you in the future make it so we can edit another command for where the AI plays like maybe on the D pad.

Also on some of the better AI opponents I think they are passing one way then it's another and I call them "you little B". That's not a complaint lol...that's a testament to how good your humanlike AI is :)

A keymapping Editor is one of the next features that should be added and the default ai command buttons for xbox(or similar) controllers will be changed!

That will be great!
I've gone back to my joystick as I'm not a console player so game pads aren't my forteit plus having one hand free to say sratch my neck during a volley is good:)

As I had mentioned before my button 2,3,4 is the game's' 1,2,3. No big deal for me as I have 20 positions I can program any DX joystick button to.

So whatever button you can make/edit other than 1,2,3 is good for AI placement. I can also program mh buttons for KB too so either way works for me.

A couple notes for other players if you haven't already figured out. The set button (after all initilal sets) will often shoot the ball over the net especially if its done near the net which seems to simulate a knuckle pokie. ( I learned that term in the olympics lol)

At any rate it's a slow speed ball especially if you're good at placement. I'm not good at that because if I move the joystick for a location prior to passing I have my eyes off the ball when hitting thus usually too late and an error. I do best not trying to place it.

Also with an expert AI assist (which my Kerri is) after she sets the ball from a serve you're better off setting it back to her unless it's a good set in front of you then spike or shot is good.

By being patient and not swinging at every set from her I get a lot of points setting it back to her because she will often place it with a good shot or spike. These may be obvious but in case not......
