Volleyball Unbound

Idea: Single Player Career
Enjoying the game so far, though have a few things I wanna see changed or optional to make the career more interesting (at least for me) in the long run:

1. Would love to see player age added and start with a self created player to play until he retires somewhere in his mid-thirties. So please let a career last longer than four seasons and adjust progression if necessary.

2. Give the option to just control this one player and allow to choose between three to five other players as a partner each season. Your partner should auto-progress and be allowed to keep for the next season unless he isn't retiring himself.

3. For ingame play no mayor changes are needed, but the option to disallow changing players would be cool, except for the service... or even better the possibility to give a signal to your ai-partner about where and how to execute the (auto-)serve.

4. Accordingly in would be nice if other teams retire and emerge to make the beach volleyball circuit more realistic.

Other than that kudos to the devs for the best volleyball related game I've played until now. Looking forward to the final release

I really like your suggestions! Originally I wanted to make the career almost exactly the way you described it. I then decided against it - mainly because such a career mode would have been significantly more work and it would have been difficult to support cooperative gameplay in a well rounded manner(both players should have their own character...)

But I still like the idea! Maybe after everything else is ironed out I will try to implement a lifelong career mode that is single player only.
I can't promise this though....

Hell add it in as Paid DLC most would probably buy it considering how liked your game is :) And honestly truth be told even that small amount of DLC is better quiality then some of the AAA games put out for DLC ROFL.

Glad to hear a single player career somewhat syncs and was already taken into consideration.
It came to my mind when I realised that the strength of your partner can be changed to your own playing level (great feature). Making the career more challenging longterm, but somewhat pitiful to just have it last four seasons. Game seemed to easy to me until I realised it was because of my expert ai-partner. I love to see him make some of the stupid mistakes I'm used to make myself... at least it gives me something to yell at. :)

Still not sure about buying the game as I miss this single player career as its written in the OP. Other than that I am stunned by what I see and read!

Currentlty it's 4 seasons which is pretty long with a lot of tournaments in a season and considering the matches require intense reflexes and I know I for one can only do so many a night.

You don't know what you're missing out on! And there's still another four weeks until Fort Lauderdale!

The four seasons is quite a long time span for this game. Every match leaves me exhausted so there's plenty of gameplay in each 4-season career. Also don't forget that Great Boolean has added player strengths/characteristics/skills that you can improve as the matches go on. So the player you start your career with can be a very different one to what you finish with.

I think I'm mostly thru season 2. I finally decided to play one of those 400 tournaments but yeah that didn't work out. Placed 4th :) At least I got some training points out of it :)

Some of those upper tier opponents are really good and not easy to fake them out with different shots. I swear they are reading my eyes when they decide where to hit the ball to me. lol.
