Aim Hero

My Progress using Aim Hero on Multiple Games
So, a big question everybody probably has is "does this work" which yes, it does, but, more importantly "does it work for this game?" well, I'm going to try and answer that by posting my progress with ALL first-person shooter games I have.

to make the test done in scientific method, I will do every training method on Aim Hero once a day prior to any FPS games I play, when will I stop? When I feel like I'm skilled enough to no longer need this.

WEEK 0/CONTROL TEST ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is how well I can do on games prior to starting Aim Hero.

Battlefield 1 - Well, prior to Aim Hero, I sucked, I would rarely get a single kill in a single match, if I'm lucky maybe I got one or two kills.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - Although I don't suck at COD as badly as Battlefield, I still only get 1, maybe 2 kills in a single match, compared to my 20 or so deaths in a single match.

Counter Strike: Source - Well, let's just say I'm lucky if I don't get kicked for incompetence.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive - I barely have the skill to perform acceptably in casual, much less competitive, which, I'm currently doing people a favor by not ruining competitive for others (by not doing Comp)

Fistful of Frags - I usually pop off 3-4 kills in a single round, with an average accuracy of about 5-10% if lucky, I primarily use melee weapons simply because I can't aim, at all.

Heroes and Generals - Currently, whenever I do run into a populated server (takes 5-10 minutes to find a server XD) I usually can get 2-5 kills, I'm by no means a good shot, but I am at least good enough to be of some use to the team.

Overwatch - Of all the games I currently play, Overwatch is the FPS I do best at, I primarily main Pharah and Sombra for offense, Mei, Bastion, and Torbjorn for defense, I cannot play tanks, and Lucio, Mercy, Symmetra and Zenyatta for support, pretty much, on heroes that don't require skill in aiming, I'm pretty good, frequently getting silver elims and damage, on healers, I frequently get gold healing, but being able to play a healer decently is by no means an achievement XD

Team Fortress 2 - Of all the games I play, this is the one I've logged the most hours playing, I main Soldier, Pyro, Heavy, Engineer, and Medic, I do best as Pyro, mostly as I am terrible at aiming, but I'm amazing at flanking!

Rainbow Six Siege - Of all the games, this is the one I've logged the least hours on, it's a game I only recently started playing. I am great in the teamwork part of things, but I lack reflexes and accuracy to be of any use in actual combat.

WEEK 1 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I by no means am a pro yet, but, I am REALLY impressed at how much I could possibly improve just by using aim Hero only 10-20 minutes a day prior to playing my games.

Battlefield 1 - I find myself reacting to enemies popping out of nowhere a lot quicker, though sometimes I still fail, I now get about 2-3 kills ever match, I find I do best in CQB areas where I can effectively use a shotgun.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - Same as Battlefield 1, only, way more noticeable results, I went from only 1-2 kills per match to around 3-6 kills in a single match, still dies like, 10-20 times and my KD isn't good still, but at least I feel as if I'm doing vaguely well.

Counter-Strike: Source - Still suck, but I'm getting better at this game, I am great at reacting to enemy fire, though I still usually fail at setting the bomb or defusing it.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive - of all the games I have, this is the one I'm experiencing the most results on, I'm getting way more headshots successfully and I'm now getting usually around 10-13 kills compared to only 7-10 deaths, which, is a huge improvement for me as prior to this I was frequently getting kicked for being a "noob". I'm by no means surprised that this one is the one I'm experiencing the best results on, this is one of the games Aim Hero is intended to help with, but I'm still impressed at how quickly I went from noob to pretty decent.

Heroes and Generals - Because I'm having problems even connecting to servers, I don't know what results I got with this one.

Overwatch - this game, also is one I'm getting lots of improvement on, to start, I'm popping off headshots frequently as McCree and frequently getting 2-3 kills as McCree in a single life, which I never thought would be possible for someone like me, who sucks at hitscan weapons. As Reaper, I'm becoming quite the killing machine, easily winning Deathmatch every now and then, as Sombra, I'm beginning to easily perform flanks and quickly take down enemy healers. As Tracer, well, I never thought I'd last ore than 5 seconds in a single match, I'm frequently getting 2-3 kills as her, and am beginning to enjoy how quickly I can move across the map as her. I still am not a very good Widow player, but I imagine I might improve in the next couple of weeks.

Team Fortress 2 - Out of all the games I've been practicing, this is the one that Aim Hero has done the worst at helping, almost no difference, this is by no means the fault of Aim Hero though, more that there's really only two classes that are dependent on good aim, Scout, and Sniper, as those two, well, I'm beginning to have lots of fun being a Scout main, and as Sniper, I'm popping off a headshot every now and then (still prefer the huntsman as sniper though).

Rainbow Six Siege - I had one small problem, friendly fire, but I'm improving quickly on that and learning to quickly distinguish enemy from ally before shooting, this is a skill I should have learned back when I first got CSGO, but I was a wimp who didn't play comp because I was afraid I'd accidentally kill a teammate. I ocassionaly get a kill or two in casual, but I only really shine in Terrorist Hunt, where I easily take down 5-6 AI-controlled bad guys in one wave, but, because that's AI and not actual human opponents I won't count that.

How about an update? :)
IkusaTakuma Jan 21, 2018 @ 10:53am
3 Months In ≠==============

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive - with any SMG or pistol, Im wiping the floor with enemies, over 3 months I've went from relying on shotguns to scopable smg's like the aug. I think i should try competitive when i have time, i feel ready to do competitive.

Overwatch - I'm able to effectively play Tracer and Widowmaker. I also am now comfortable playing hitscan heroes in competitive mode.

Paladins (Xbox One) - by the way, i configured my xbox controller to work in aim hero, so i can practice console gaming too. Im actually doing great at Paladins on console. The real challenge will be Overwatch on Xbox though.

Quake 3 - overall, i can annihilate players in this game, especially with the rocket launcher. I even can hold my own against some of the more hardcore players.

Quake Live - i usually get either kicked for incompetence, or kicked for "cheating" because i got a kill after 20 deaths.

Team Fortress 2 - Im frequently playing scout now, i am good at sniper but cant play sniper without getting kicked for "cheating" so i stopped playing sniper.

Rainbow Six Siege - have not been playing this much, as rainbow six was too big to keep installed on my system.

~11 Months in ==========================================================

Notes:
- I've learned to config controllers to work on Aim Hero using the Steam Controller Utility, so I can practice aim on console as well, it works with Xbox One Controller, ahve not tried PS4 controller yet, but I'm sure that will work too.

- To AimHero Devs: Please add a grenade-based practice mode to AimHero, it would help a lot on games that rely on grenadespam and games that rely on using grenades in general, such as Halo or Call of Duty. Also a gamemode where you must learn ammo discipline would be nice.

Results Below ======================================================

There are probably a couple I missed, but I think you all get the idea...

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (Xbox 360) - Not as good as on PS3, but I still can take out 2-3 enemies in a life and easily help my squad win the game.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (PS3) - I'm frequently 1st or 2nd on scoreboards in this game now, also am OK at using snipers. Usually the issue I run into when playing this game is running out of ammo, and not if I can kill the enemies before they get me.

Battlefield 3 (Xbox 360) - I'm skilled enough to be kicked from Noob-only servers, so that's something.... Oh, and aiming on 360 is no longer difficult.

Battlefield 3 (PS3) - Aiming on PS3 is noticeably different than aiming on Xbox 360 and Xbox One, however, once I figured it out, I actually found the long-travel joysticks on a PS3 controller great for precision and I actually found it easier to play on PS3 than Xbox.

Battlefield 1 (PC) - I find no-scope bolt-action rifles to be best for me. I plan on using Sniper Rifles more often with actual scopes, luckily Aim Hero did add a sniper mode so that's convenient! One thing is for sure in this game though, skill at monitoring objectives appears FAR more important than raw skill.

Bioshock Infinite (PC) - Well.... Not much to practice, but having this extra aim skill is useful when I wish to take in more of what's going on, as I'm so skilled in this game I don't need to really worry about dying, and have some headroom to work harder at comprehending the story and enjoying it.

Bioshock Infinite (Xbox 360) - Having good skill helps for achievement-hunting :)

Bioshock Infinite (PS3) - Once again, it's easier to trophy-hunt when skill isn't a problem :)

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive - Doing flawless even with semi-auto rifles, still not very comfortable with snipers though, hopefully the sniper training mode in AimHero will help.

Halo 4 (Xbox 360) - On Halo 4, I learned it's a noticeably different game, it takes a significant amount more shots to kill a single player, the effective tactic on Halo 4, after about 4 hours of gameplay, is to grenade-then-shoot. I think Aim Hero needs to add a grenade-based practice type to their utility to help with games like this.

Overwatch (PC) - Playing flawlessly, have enough headroom with skill to be a "casual" player and still win.

Overwatch (Xbox One) - I'm aiming well enough to be able to handle max aim sensitivity, which is helping a lot with heroes like Tracer and McCree on console. I've also bound the "A" key (jumping) to pressing down the left stick, which helps me be more difficult to shoot at, which has been helping too. Also disabled aim smoothing, which is annoying as all heck and I'd advise any fellow console Overwatch players do the same.

Paladins (PC) - I'm doing flawlessly as Strix and Kinessa, combining my aim skills with a low-skill hero like Victor and it's almost an instant win.

Paladins (Xbox One) - Also doing very well, I find Tyra and Kinessa to be my current favorites on console Paladins, and Evie (who is annoying if you can dodge attacks). Like Overwatch, Paladins offers keybinding options so I bound jumping to pressing the left stick so I can more easily jump, which once again makes me a painfully hard target to shoot down.

Team Fortress 2 - Still just as good, I stopped doing sniper outside Man vs Machine because people keep kicking me for being good at sniper (usually you either get kicked for sucking at sniper, or "cheating" as sniper), but Scout is THE merc to play for me. Also, my now-lethal accuracy makes for some fairly good Spy-with-Ambassador gameplay (The Ambassador does not have random crits or good bodyshot damage, but headshots are high damage)

Medal of Honor: Rising Sun (PS2) - Yes, I do in fact play this game, my friends down at church now frequently host LAN parties where we use system link and the like to play games like this one. Overall, my aim is fine on this game, the only problem, is the input lag this game has, once I got the hang of it though, I was frequently on the top of the leaderboard. Will soon get this game on the OG Xbox where I might be able to do more online through Xlink Kai so maybe in the next update that'll happen!

If it's possible for you, publish your rank in Overwatch - I have played for 2 years in OW mostly and going to improve my aim now ( I play only PC, my last 2 season I was 3700-3800, but I am really bad on hitscan heroes and want to improve it, to punish tracer, pharra etc).

Rank isn't really a thing that has improved much for me, I only managed to go from bronze 1400SR to high-silver/low-gold at about exactly 2000SR, though my aim rivals grandmaster players my game sense is a bottleneck. If you're 3700-3800SR though, I can imagine aim could be a bottleneck at that skill level, so maybe your results will be different.

Which training modes do you use?

All of them. Each one helps in specific ways, given the variety of games I play, I play all of the training modes for benefits in all forms of accuracy.

If you are playing a very specific shooter or playing a specific hero in a game, then you might want to pick a mode based on what you're trying to improve (i.e laser beam practice is EXCELLENT when practicing heroes like Zarya in Overwatch, but useless if you're trying to play snipers)

So this really helps with console aiming? I tried a few of the modes and it felt tailored for mouse aiming, and almost impossible with a controller. For example Reflex I was able to hit very few of the targets.
