I think Caesar 4 looks really good for a game from 2006. I especially enjoy the weather effects. It's objectively better than Caesar 3, but definitely packs less of a WOW effect than C3 or Pharaoh did at their times.

I could pick on the repetitive missions a bit, but that's kind of how these games are supposed to be. You build up a great city, win, and you do it again. But only if you want to.

It also isn't as easy to make perfect city layouts as it was in the previous titles of the genre, or at least it seems so to me. Buildings come in many different sizes and walls, docks, farms or aqueducts can easily distrupt your tidy structure sometime later in the scenario. I know it's aspergerish to want this totally neat grid, but what can I do.

Use the Sierra Humble Bundle to get this, if you'll regret anything at all, it'll be the many hours you spent having fun playing video games instead of working : )

FIXES FOR CAESAR IV!
1) If it gives you a Runtime error after clicking launch, do this:

a) Go to your steam folder for Caesar 4
b) rightclick RegisterDLL.bat and run it as administrator. It should work fine.

2) If it crashes when you go to load specific menus or levels, do this:

a) Go to your steam folder for Caesar 4
b) Right-click the "CaesarIV" Application file
c) Click Properties, then click Compatibility
d) Change compatibility mode to work for Vista or Windows Xp service pack 2. It works with Vista for me, but not XP.

3) Want to run in Windowed Mode?
a) Go to your steam folder for Caesar 4
b) rightclick the CaesarIV configuration file and hit Edit, use notepad if given the option.
c) Change "Fullscreen Mode" from 1 to 0.

Hra je super jako vždycky byla jen je škoda že se nepustily do dalšího dílu hry. Přidat pár mechanik vylepšit grafiku a mohla by být propracovaná pětka a byla by super. Prostě hra ve stejném duchu jen udělaná do součastnosti aby třeba byla těžká ale promakaná tady chybí.

Such a classic. I spend hours playing this as a kid.

the game is great, i played ceasar 2 and 3 and almost forgot about the series untill i saw this game.

although dated, i still find it enjoyable from time to time.

The best game for me! Amazing!!
