Just so everyone knows as we initially said today, we'll most likely be updating the game tomorrow now.

There's a bit more testing to do before we're set to go live.

We'd like to thank Onwaaard for the suggestion of making custom scenarios exportable at high enough resolutions to print out and make your own custom game boards. This should be implemented by tomorrow too :)

Thanks!

Fantastic! Thank You!

This just added massive incentive for people to purchase the game. Make sure this feature is well advertised!

No problem - thanks for the suggestion!

We'll be sure to make lots of noise about it once implemented ;)

..."This should be implemented by tomorrow too :)"

Any idea when, since it seems to still be in the works?

We're working to make sure the exported maps look the absolute best they can, and are still doing some testing on bug fixes. We want to make sure everything is working correctly before setting live, so we try not to give anything too concrete. We'll definitely be making an announcement in here, on Twitter and Facebook, once the update is out!
Update 1.6.2.0
  • Feature addition! - Scenario Export tool. This was suggested by user Onwaaard and means users can now export images of their scenarios at their chosen resolution, meaning users can theoretically print out their custom scenarios and make their own Ogre game boards!
  • Fixed bug with non infantry and G.E.V. units being unable to use railroad bridges.
  • Fixed bug where occasionally units on a hex containing a road/rail/bridge that were not on it, were still receiving the movement cost as if they were.
  • Fixed bug where AI could attack twice with AP guns during the first turn of an overrun.
  • Fixed a few bugs with scenario editor crashing on open and randomly freezing.

As always, if you encounter any issues or have any feedback, let me know on jake@aurochdigital.com and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. This is particularly pertinent with the new export tool, as it is still a work in progress. It would be great to hear back from you after some experimentation, as lots of you have different setups etc. :)

Thanks everyone!
We apologize for the delay on this update. We encountered some issues with releasing the the update on macOS and have reverted it temporarily, the update will be pushed back until tomorrow.

Thanks Dan. That is all live now. Have fun making new maps!

Another update -
  • Improved output color on the image exporter, towns and rubble should now be brighter, edge content such as ridges should appear darker in line with the terrain.
  • Fixed miscellaneous minor bugs with scenario creator.
  • Fixed a bug where ramming infantry caused a hang under certain circumstances.
  • Fixed bug with overrun causing a hang under certain circumstances.

Thanks all. As ever do let us know any issues, thoughts! Happy war :)

Can you please tell use what the "miscellaneous minor bugs with scenario creator" were?

The updated brown color looks great. Thank You!

Here's a comparison image of the SHELL SHOCK Map before and after the updated Map colors:

I noticed the Rubble color is lighter in the update and think maybe it is more obvious using the same darker color before the update. The lighter color Rubble seems too close to the Town hex color while the darker original Rubble color seems to compliment everything else while also standing out, in a good way, asthetically as it were.
Here is a single SHELL SHOCK Map with the top portion left as the new update is and the bottom portion Rubble hexes edited using the same darker color before the update (I layered the original map over the updated color one and then erased portions that would show the underlying darker Rubble color):

Ogre Update 1.6.3.3

  • Feature Request implemented - INF squads and SHVYs can now group their attacks on Ogre treads.
  • Darkened Rubble hexes in the Scenario Exporter.
  • Fixed an issue where INF and Marines were being rammed in Overruns.
  • Fixed an issue where users were unable to load Campaign or Skirmish games after using the Scenario Creator.
  • Stacking Limit bug fixed - previously, if you clicked Cancel on the Stacking Limit warning, you could then Advance by ending your turn again, with all the units still in the overloaded stack.
  • Added recent multiplayer testers to Credits under Special Thanks.
  • Fixed a bug where the credits weren't showing up at all.

As always, do please let us know your thoughts and feedback. If you experience any issues, you can let me know on jake@aurochdigital.com

Thanks!

Ogre Update 1.6.6.0

  • Mk.1 now showing damage on model
(Main Battery damaged state was not displaying)
  • Legal text added to exported scenario screens at 40x40. You may need to export it twice, this will be fixed in the next update.
  • Campaign launch error fixed
  • Ogres now taking correct Tread Damage when ramming in Overrun
  • Overrun was previously too short for disarmed Ogres. This should now be correct.
Thanks!
nice to see the date_time added to the export filenames, too. It's a good improvement, but I'd still like to see the scenario's name as part of the filename, too (least-specific to most-specific).

e.g, "My_Scenario1_1024x576_20180723_013041.png" instead of "20180723_013041_1024x576.png"

That would make it the easiest to find a particular export.

Hey all. Just a quick note to say that we've updated to Version Number 1.6.8 (Build ID: 3111059)

In this version we've:
  • Added fallback shaders to help with graphical glitches some players were experiencing.
  • Fixed a bunch of incorrect or missing text.
  • Fixed some issues with units having incorrect stats in the Campaign.
  • Fixed an issue with menu overlap in the Scenario Creator.
Thanks all!
