Sweet, if you ever add Virtual Reality support to Redout 2 or any other game you release I will instantly buy it. In the meantime I will keep playing Redout because the absolute experience of speed is with VR :)

This doesn't fix the colors being washed out so I'm going to keep using the pre-Epic version.

Look, chief. I'm not saying this to persuade you, but to rather tell you about a beneficial alternative (if you can call it that). There is a Windows 10 version called "Enterprise LTSC Edition" that is almost entirely stripped of the bloatware it usually ships with. Try getting that version instead of any other "mainstream" version. The only updates it gets are security updates, and those are not very common.

I don't know how you'll get it, but let's just say it's too expensive for the average user and using alternative methods might be a little more... reasonable. You can also install ClassicShell to get a "real" start menu instead of the garbled crap W10 ships with. In essence, W10 is exactly the same as W7 in terms of menus if you know how to find the said interface and menus. The only thing that makes it different is the hideous new style it ships with, and probably a few other bells'n'whistles like DX12.

I used to be just like you, so I understand your concerns and struggles. I still love Windows 7, but at some point I had to upgrade to play some other game. After some research, I found the edition I mentioned in the previous paragraph. It really isn't worth risking your security by using W7 at this point.

Long story short, I recommend upgrading to Windows 10 on your own terms instead of Microsoft's. There are a good deal of other software to remove more bloat and telemetry as well (some stuff is even in Enterprise, somehow). I can even help you out with the process if you want an extra pair of hands, as well.

Other notable software to remove bloatware, telemetry and so on:
- OOSU10 (O&O ShutUp10++)
- WPD (Privacy dashboard for Windows)
- Blackbird (ONLY if you know what you are doing, as it can break things if you are not careful)
- Scripts that mass delete telemetry updates for W10 (there are a few floating around if you search for it; anything reasonably recent should do the job)

PS: While I know that it's a lot of work, it's best to take care of it for once and all to not have headaches again in the future.

news flash, every update since KB4507456 has besotted 7 and 8 with the exact same telemetry suite that 10 has, and the only thing you have to show for it is a more insecure system with fewer features
