Online not available?

I wanted to play some online races with my friend who recently got the game on the Epic Store but the option to play online isn't available. Do I have to progress further in the campaign to play it or is it still in development or something?

No online is just broken with the new update rn. Your friend is one of the few people on epic that can run the game at all

I await whenever that happens... if it happens. I quite liked seeing where my lap times compared to other people who play, or had played, the game on the online leaderboard.

The leaderboard works fine. Its the mp thats a bit in progress due to cross platform support incoming.
