Wipeout is a much slower game, with shorter, tighter tracks that are far less inventive in terms of layout and features. They feel more grounded in a real-life future though and require lots of technical execution to navigate without crashing. Also, Wipeout is heavily weapon-based and is much more about its ship vs ship combat in addition to racing.
I've played a lot of both games and greatly prefer Redout due to its much wilder tracks, vehicle handling, greater sense of speed and superior soundtrack. Wipeout is still good but honestly I'd probably never go back to it after playing Redout.
