Blackouts and Redouts
One of the tooltips says that you should pitch your ship up and down on slopes to counteract Blackouts and Redouts. I assume blackouts and redouts are those changes in screen colors that simulate the effect of g-forces. Are they actually harmful in the game or do they just signify that your vertical raceline is not optimal?
Also, is Redout an actual thing? :) I never heard that term before but English isn't my native language.

Yes, A redout is when blood rushes to your head. It does slow you down, but not by much dont worry too much about it as a new player.

Yup redout is the opposite of a blackout (negetive g force) and can be pretty nasty https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redout

While neither of the effects are truly harmful (I also believe it is technically greyouts and not blackouts - "A greyout (US English grayout) is a transient loss of vision characterized by a perceived dimming of light and color, sometimes accompanied by a loss of peripheral vision. It is a precursor to fainting or a blackout and is caused by hypoxia (low brain oxygen level), often due to a loss of blood pressure" - you should look out for grinding the floor throughout any parts where it could happen as grinding the floor DOES slow you down.

The visual effects are mostly just cosmetic.
