But yeah, I really can't say anything about the release date at the moment. Nicalis (the binding of isaac guys) are handling some parts of the port for us, while we are busy on Xbox One and PS4.
Currently the PC version shows a HUGE performance gap between Nvidia and AMD in favor of Nvidia.
Any chance that optimization for PS4/Xbox One could lead to some degree of PC performance parity? The GTX 1060 and RX 480 are generally on par in most games, but the 1060 is nearly twice as fast in Redout.
I've tried the demo but don't want to buy until this performance issue is addressed.
What's your base resolution? The 200% doesn't tell us anything.
At 4k, Epic, and 100% (so actual 4k), I can get 30-40fps on my GTX 480, while my GTX 1060 (which I no longer have) was sustaining 60fps.
If you're at 1080p, and resolution/render scale is set to 200%, in most games that equates to 4xSSAA, or 4k. So, either render scale in this game isn't working properly, the developer has a different definition of 200% (others have done this), or you may have missed a setting.
I'll give the demo another try when my replacement 4k display arrives (April/May tiemframe). I'll see what progress they've made.
Yea, you're not wrong. So, technically, going from 1080p to 2160p (4k) is 400%. But most render scale options only refer to one way. So, 200% of 1080p in MOST games is 2160p, or 4k.
It is possible that Redout does it differently. They wouldn't be the first.
And options to turn off motion blur, camera shake and fisheye effects would also help immensely.
I love this game, and this genre, but motion sickness means I'm unable to play this game for long without those options.
Nope. Nicillas or whatever its called i guess just isnt good at porting things.
They have NO idea what they are doing and you guys need to find someone else to port this game. It isn't fair Switch is the ONLY platform to get this kind of delay just because you chose the wrong publisher.
It just got a release date:
