Thanks to everyone playing Captive 3000 during Next Fest and sending feedback. The biggest request was to make it easier to jump in and keep playing, even without an internet connection. Version 1.60 is now live for both the full game and the demo, and it's all about that!

You no longer need to register to play. On the sign-in screen, choose TRY WITHOUT REGISTERING to start straight away. Your progress, checkpoints and blockchain fragment saves are kept on your local computer, and you can pick up where you left off any time.

If you want to appear on the leaderboard you'll still need to register a player name.

Guest progress is now backed up with Steam Cloud, in both the full game and the demo. Start on one computer and carry on from another. Windows and macOS share the same saves.

• You can now keep playing when your internet connection drops, or start the game while Steam is in offline mode.

• Your saves are kept locally and sent to the server automatically when you're back online.

• A clear on-screen banner tells you when you're offline and when you've reconnected.

• The Quick Menu shows whether you're playing online, offline, or as a guest with local saves only.

The blockchain fragment save screen has been redesigned. It shows your save status and how many fragments you have more clearly. The wording is simpler, and the warning about overwriting a permanent checkpoint is clearer.

• The auto weapon now fires one final shot even if you have less than 3 ammo

• When you run out of ammo, or a damaged ZLOT weapon breaks, you automatically switch to your best remaining weapon, with a message saying what you switched to

• You can make one final gold throw with less than five gold, and you'll get a clear message when you have no gold left to throw

Levels 1 and 2 have been made a little easier to give new players a smoother start.

Gameplay alerts, dialogs, story text and all the new features are now translated into all 28 supported languages. Previously only the core user interface messages were localized.

Captive 3000 now supports Remote Play on TV with full controller support, and Remote Play on Tablet with touch controls through the Steam Link app.

Steam Deck controls have also been improved but not fully tested and approved by Steam yet so you may still experience some issues (please report any Steam Deck problems to me so I can fix them!)
