Technically the game doesn't contain many bugs, though they do still happen at this point (that point being "early access"). They are not game-breaking though, so nowhere near the release state of Might & Magic X or Heroes VII.
However Showdown has different problems, starting with the lack of content. Basically right now it's 21 characters to unlock (their graphics being recycled from older games), one campaign and the duel mode (PvP and PvE). So after the campaign (which lasts for 2-3 hours) this game doesn't give any specific goals and you are left with playing a lot of duels. I suppose you can make some of your own, like get all the achievements or collect all the miniatures or be a the top of the leaderboard. But it's up to you.
So, technically speaking the game is on a good path, but content-wise it needs definitely more to attract more players.
Right now you can check the Steam numbers yourself - only 160 reviews, 65% of which are positive. Steamspy says the game is owned by about 4000 players. So the game is not popular at all and this in turn means that finding a human opponent for PvP duels is really hard right now.
We are listening and acting on a lot of the feedback provided.
Our State of The Realm streams are important as they allow us to show you new features as well as new people seeing the game.
I'm hanging back and waiting to see how the single player part of the game rolls out
I'm very interested if the single player has a big future
We don't have a fully laid out roadmap as such, but if you check our most recent news post, we've outlined a couple of things that we're working on right now.
One of them is indeed a single player campaign. Hopefully we'll have some more details about this to give you soon, but for now I want to assure you that if PvE content is something you guys want, we can definitely provide more. The reason we're in Early Access right now is so that we can develop the game along with you guys; if there's something you want to see, let us know and we'll see what we can do!
Best regards,
Jimothy.
awesome, rock on
I got my hopes up, hope to see some single player skirmish action
and LOTS of replay value so the game will continue to gain more players and have a life after the campaign
paint skins, but nothing on how or where the game is headed
sorry, I suck at waiting
I have been watching another game that is VERY similar to this one called "Wartile" sadly its in the very early stages as well
Here's the most recent post about it: http://steamcommunity.com/games/517070/announcements/detail/254856417449490225
We'll get some more information to you as soon as we can, but for now I can assure you that single player content is a big focus of our next update.
If there's any more questions I can answer, don't hesitate to ask :)
Regards,
Jimothy.
