[Patch Notes] October 24: Bosses, Casino & Artifacts

Oct 24

Hello, Hunters.

This update speeds up boss fights, adds new ways to bet in the casino, strengthens artifacts, and fixes several bugs you reported.

Bosses

Crabbles: Bubbles are faster and more numerous, and patterns switch more quickly, so you'll see a wider mix of attacks.
Bony McFish: Patterns switch faster, and spike barrages are slightly denser.
Bony McFish: The sunfish shield now shifts between formations and appears in every pattern. It's much tougher, so focus your fire to break through.
Zenith: Between patterns, Zenith now stops in front of or beside the ship and unleashes a barrage. That's your window to focus fire.

Combat Feedback

Toned down the white flash when hitting monsters and bosses, so the screen is less glaring during rapid fire.
Added sound effects for getting trapped in a bubble and for breaking free when it pops.
Added sound effects for being grabbed by Octonapper and being carried off.

Bug Fixes

Fixed an issue where players could get inside Harbor buildings through a window.
Fixed an issue where falling off the ship in the lobby after a game over froze all controls, including ESC. Falling in the lobby now returns you to the starting point without damage.
Fixed an issue where confirming a solo departure from the multiplayer waiting room did not start the game.
If casino time ends before a blackjack hand is decided, the hand is now settled as a DRAW. You lose nothing, and departure is no longer blocked.

Casino

Roulette: Place up to 10 chips (100 Rupees each) per round wherever you like. Go all in on one spot or spread them out. Payouts are now ×1.9 for color, odd/even, and high/low, ×3.3 for dozens and columns, and ×50 for single numbers and 0.
Plinko: Hold the GO button to keep dropping balls automatically. Release it to stop.
Casino result messages now show the actual gold paid out after bonuses. Rounds with a bonus also show the bonus percentage (e.g., 13,200 Gold (+10%)).

Rewards & Debt

Each monster type now drops the same amount of Rupees no matter which stage you defeat it in. This fixes Chapter 3 monsters mostly dropping only +1 or +2 Rupees. Stages with more monsters now pay out more Rupees.
Changed chapter debt: Chapter 2 increases slightly (30,000 → 33,000 gold), and Chapter 3 decreases (50,000 → 40,000 gold). Chapter 1 stays at 15,000 gold.
Changed total party debt multipliers to 210% / 320% / 430% for 2 / 3 / 4 players.

Weapon Upgrades

Fixed the Water Blaster MK5 → Capsule Scrap MK1 upgrade costing less than the previous step (6,000 → 7,000 gold).
Each upgrade from Capsule Scrap MK1 through MK5 now costs 7,500 / 8,000 / 8,500 / 9,000 gold. Upgrade success rates are unchanged.

Shop

The artifact shop gains one display slot each time you return to the Harbor after the first stage of a new chapter (2-1, 3-1). Every run starts with 3 slots.

Artifacts

Increased the effects of 20 combat artifacts by about 10–15%.
Casino artifacts now come with a Bet Amount bonus. It raises both the bet and the payout per round on casino machines, so you can turn Rupees into gold faster (up to +200%).
Added 5 new common artifacts to the shop: four that combine a combat effect (Attack, Max HP, damage to normal enemies, or hit width) with a Bet Amount bonus, and High Roller Chip, which offers a large Bet Amount bonus on its own.
Added or increased hit width (the hit-detection angle) on several common and rare artifacts, making aiming a little more forgiving.

Performance

Reduced the background sardine school effects in Chapter 3 to ease stuttering.

Existing saves: Artifacts you already own keep the values they had when you got them. The changes apply to artifacts you obtain from now on.

Please make sure everyone in your party has updated to the same build before playing co-op.

Rebalanced monster and boss HP, including stage HP scaling, around the revised weapon progression.

Casino

Reduced casino opening time from 3 minutes to 2 minutes.
Increased the chances of landing in the ×3 and ×12 slots in Plinko.
Reduced the cost of a Big Six round from 1,000 to 500 Rupees and updated the wheel layout and payouts.
Big Six payouts: 10 pays 10,000 gold, 20 pays 20,000 gold, and JOKER / LOGO each pay 77,777 gold.

Artifacts

Reduced artifact prices: Rare 2,000 gold, Fantastic 3,500 gold, and Cosmic 15,000 gold.
Reduced Special Offer prices to 1,000–3,000 gold, depending on clear count.
Replaced artifact bonuses that increased Rupee gains with bonuses to gold earned in the casino. Some lower-tier artifacts can now roll this bonus as a random effect.
Added stat-value ranges and one random effect to 10 lower-tier artifacts.

Existing saves: Artifacts already purchased in an older save retain their previous effects when you continue that save.

Demo Update: Short Delay While We Fix a Multiplayer Issue

Hello, everyone, We have a quick update on the GAMBLE HUNTERS demo. During final testing, we found a network error affecting multiplayer. Since co-op is a core part of the game, we don't want to release the demo until it works properly, so we're holding it back while we fix the problem. We're working on it right now and will upload the demo as soon as the fix is ready. We'll post another announcement here the moment it's live. We're sorry for the delay, and thank you for your patience and support. - A...

First GAMBLE HUNTERS Demo Arrives October 6

Hi everyone, The first demo of GAMBLE HUNTERS is scheduled to go live on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at around 5:00 AM EDT (2:00 AM PDT / 10:00 AM BST / 11:00 AM CEST). The game is still a work in progress, and some parts are not finished yet. Even so, we believe that hearing from you at this stage is the best way to make it a better game, and that is why we put this demo together. GAMBLE HUNTERS is a somewhat unusual genre, so rather than describing it at length, we would like you to try it for yourself....
