Mobile phones

Will the player be able to own a mobile phone? At the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries, there were plenty of cheap, entry level phones, eg. Nokia 1000/2000 series phones. Also, conversations became cheaper for end users, because GSM 1800 standard was created and it became very popular after year 1995. If this idea is going to be considered, my proposition of mobile phone is a phone based on Nokia 1610. Also, Nokia is a finnish company, so I think we might have a chance of owning a mobile phone in MWC :)

this isnt really a new feature but rather improving on a already existing feature. anyway we would also have to think why player character themself would want to buy a mobile phone

That's not the point I'm making.
What I mean is that Toplessgun doesn't want the player to have it too easy, and also doesn't want to complicate features that he already developed to a good state.
The landline works perfectly, so why replace it, eh?

yes but why brother buying a mobile phone during late 90s when you are not some kind of salesman or something. i mean having a phone thats protable is cool but like wasting money for portable version of something you already have home that might not even work well in countryside due to lack of Mobile phone antennas is bit wasteful.

im also quite curious about how the hell are we going to find some gsm providers. without them then ♥♥♥♥ you wouldnt even get messages from suski

i think it would be a good idea but as this games version of the rally pc game where yes you can buy it and yes it kinds of works but the calls don't go through becuase of the poor service since your in the middle of nowhere

Most likely NOT, but there is always a small chance for useable mobile phone.
