Why the Ford Taunus?

Toplessgun, I thought, why will Ford Taunus be in MWC? Why not Ford Escort RS1800? Then why is this car important and what mark has it left on you?

It will probably have some backstory so maybe TG know someone who had it or it will just be randomly chosen car but it might be first option.

Ok legit now, I think it's because it was, back then, a pretty common affordable sporty car, and was easy for tuning and stuff. Just like the Datsun was popular with amis for being cheap and easily tunable.

Well Satsuma, Hayosiko and Gifu (Only plate) are references to Finnish television shows. Maybe Ford Taunus is one of the finnish tv's iconic cars but on my research couldn't find anything so just as said; it's more likely that Taunus is just a selection for winter environment or a story behind it.

TG also know a guy who flew through windshield in 100a if i remember correctly.

I think its a good choice because it is a cheap rwd car without being cool.

There are not that many options.

Opel and Ford Europe made similar cars.
They both had amis cars and family cars.
Even though I think the regular Opels look better compared to the Fords.

BMW and Mercedes are high class, out of budget for the player.
Anything american is not something the player would consider.

Volvo could be an option but they are also expensive.

Volvo is too popular and overrated to be in the game as project car. Satsuma was common in Finland too but that's different. TG had chosen a rather interesting car imo.

All kinds of fords were popular in Finland back in these days,especially in these tiny towns and the countryside but the taunus especially. My mothers father has 2 Taunuses,1 that is almost just the body,2 roofs and one that is just the body with all parts except the glovebox removed and it even has the roof chopped off. Oh yeah and my moms ex-boyfriends Taunus aswell,he just left it there.
