Chopping Firewood

Has anyone else noticed that it's way worse than it used to be? I've always had the occasional log refuse to split, but just now it felt like at least 40% of the logs I tried to chop just wouldn't work. The ax either wouldn't hit them at all, or I had to hit them 20 times before they would actually split. Made a frustrating task downright infuriating.

It's been like that ever since the update to the physics which was a couple weeks ago

Stand in a 90° angle to the intended cut direction. Then it works a bit better.

Yes, its way worse, im using 2 wood collectors, place them on both sides of choping block and it almost always drops into it.. helped me a lot

Glad to know it wasn't just me. I just resorted to beating each log to death with the ax hoping to find that magical sweet spot while I muttered curses under my breath and felt my blood pressure rise.

positioning your axe has always been a tough nut to get right. Just a shame TG nerfed those wood-carriers, though. Thereby elevating that task from "drawn-out, tedious nuisance" to "straight-up punishment".

Every time I chop wood since the wood-carrier lost it's vacuum ability I long for those days. It honestly made the whole task so much better. But the whole point of this game seems to be to sort of torture the player with tedium, and yet I keep coming back for more.

Yep. Used to enjoy splitting a few logs, now I'm just ignoring firewood guy or using MSCEditor until TG gets around to fixing this ♥♥♥♥.

I don't think that change was intentional. I think the physics update was intentional, but I think this was an unintended side effect. Making things simply not work doesn't make sense. Adding some mechanic where you have to hand sharpen your ax after every 7 or 8 swings and could somehow end up accidentally killing yourself sounds much more in line with how the game is.

I see it another way as topless is a troll dev at best why add fuses for silly stuff like a tap? Why make it so you cant knock the bales around anymore with the beer case? Because he dont like how people play HIS game and when i say HIS I mean it lol ......You are a guest and should play his way

Yeah that might be true haha. Personally I like the fuses, it adds a little bit more of the mundane realness to it. But that's just me, it is pointless in the grand scheme.

Always remember the entire point of the game: it is supposed to be REALISTIC and HARD. TG hates that you play the game in an unrealistic and easy way.
