Dyno HP & Engine Cond. & Rebuild?
I just ran the dyno for the first time. I got 62 hp-63 hp over 4 or 5 dyno runs. I ran it both with a normal AF ratio (14) and lean AF ratio (like 10) and saw no changes, but that's besides the point. I'm concerned because the stock HP is 77 iirc.

I installed the twin carb, the light flywheel, new exhaust, and new exhaust headers. I think that's all the parts except for the racing carb.

Why is my HP low? I'm checking MSC Editor and:
- I have all cylinder intake/exhaust in good cond. 8 & 7 respectively.
- AF ratio 14.69
- I have all proper fluids in good cond. If that means anything
- Distributor spark timing is good. 14.5
- Camshaft & Wheels are aligned.
- Headgasket & Crankshaft at 46%
- Pistons in the 33-41% range
- Rockers at 65%
- Fuel pump at 30%
- Alternator and clutch at 42%
- Starter at 67%
- Waterpump at 40%
Some of the other parts are in low cond. as well.

So does the condition of my parts effect the HP #s? I want to do rally (getting the rollcage right now, will probably order the seats & will switch out tires) sometime soon. Should I consider a rebuild?

According to MSC Editor the spark timing is 14.5. I will edit the original post to state that.

they are all "below average" condition, but you wont get a lot of HP back if you use the editor to get them at 100%, if you can try. The entire car will almost never go above 100hp, and some people report DIFFERENT HP numbers to other people. I myself could never get it (all racing parts, different exhaust configurations, no nitro, no turbo, no supercharger) past 100hp. Some people claim to get 150hp on the same config, so its all a bit of a mess.

your carb seems a tad lean, if you want some gut wrenching (or not to be overtaken by the bus) then get the a/fr gauge, lift the front end off the ground, then enrichen the mixture by scrolling down, then hope in the car and put it into 3 or 4 gear and floor it until it hits limiter take not of the mixture on gauge and go from there. I wouldn't use msceditor for such minor jobs as it sometimes displays weirdly, also check the spark plugs

interesting. I've heard of numbers past the 100s.

Yeah, that's why its kind of a ♥♥♥♥♥, same setup and people get different HP numbers. And i mean over 40hp of difference in exactly the same setup and tune.

my car when having a good run 140hp no nitro 160hp with RS carbs and nitro on and stainless pipe and racing muffler

Do racing carbs really make a 20 HP difference?

IRL? No. The game is being a bit generous by also switching up the torque curve a lot. IRL you would need a bit more agressive cam shafts, and a new carb, to get 20hp more.

Yeah I was thinking that 20 hp was a big improvement from the carbs.

Ok I think i'm going to leave the engine the way it is. Will probably install nitrous maybe.

Will rebuild once stuff starts going really bad. Hopefully I can get one rally out of it.
