Car starts, runs for 5 seconds, and dies

Everytime i start my car, i turn the key, nothing. I try again, nothing. every failed attempt the red light on the dash, and my oil light come out. 3rd or 4th time, the engine will start, it then runs fine for about 5 seconds, and just dies.

Whenever it dies the red light on the dash and the oil light come on. Its running at about 15.5 Air/Fuel Mixture.

If i rev the engine up a bit it will stay running i can even drive it. but it died when changing between reverse and drive. But it wont idle at all.

I tried driving it to Fleetari's, but when i get the dirt crossroads near the highway, it starts to make a ticky clunky sound, shortly after, the engine died, and will not restart. nothing seems to fall off the car or anything. Any idea what i need to do to fix it?

Is the distributor adjusted correctly.

I believe so, but if the car wont idle i'm not sure when they're correctly adjusted, unless anyone knows the what number it would be on msc editor, im not sure how to get it sorted

I think your car not starting every time has to do with a damaged starter.

Red light after stalling is normal, it just means that the battery isn't being charged by the alternator, which is normal if the engine isn't on but the key is in the ignition.

Stalling might be because of bad spark plugs or a mistuned distributor. The distributor should be as advanced (iirc clockwise) as possible without ticking.

Damaged fuel pump makes the engine cut out and sputter as if you were running out of fuel. Is that happening?

jesus a car need air fuel and compression check the fuel pump check how the engine overall health is it could be where you have it tuned improperly

Previously i could drive the car, i just couldn't stop, but the past few tries to get it to Fleetari's from my house, its caught fire before i even get to the railway lines. previously i could get quite far

Check the screws if your car caught fire, if they are all fully bolted, tune the carburator, on my car is 14.0 air/fuel mixture when the engine heats up until 80°C, on my car this works just fine. You should search on Google "satsuma troubleshooting" and there are all the problems that your car can have

If the red light on the dash comes on just before the engine dies, that’s the Alternator gone, replace that see if it fixes the problem. If not replace spark plugs and Alternator belt. That worked for me

The alternator will be gone if it flashes red when the car is running. If there is low rpm it will still be glowing red. I think OP should do some troubleshooting with choke, so that the car wont stall.
