CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 (4 core 3.4 GHz)
GPU: GTX 560
MEM: 8 GB
# Golden Eye and all settings turned on #
Standing at the yard looking at garage: 55 fps
Sitting inside van looking at the lake: 40 fps
Driving with van: 40-50 fps, some ocassional jerkiness observable
Getting killed: 23 fps
Overall opinion for max graphics: playable, but not ideal for driving.
# Good with all settings turned on #
No noticeable difference to above.
# Good without dynamic shadows but everything else on #
Sitting inside the van looking at the lake: 60 fps (cap)
So it would seem that dynamic shadows hit fps hardest. Without these overall performance seems excellent, I'll add more notes if there are any surprises later.
Technically 'it runs', but the whole game plays in slow-motion for the first hour you are running it. Before the car is built i can actually get about 30fps driving around in van, sitting in sauna, if i run the game for about 1 hour (not sure why it runs better the longer it runs, maybe a Windows XP not being supported thing?), once the car is built it tanks massively and the game is basically stuck in slow-motion, somewhat tolerable but not that enjoyable if you are sober. I think with complete stock satsuma and no extra 3d objects laying around i once hit about 30fps at normal game speed after 2-3 hours of play, but in a game where you can die very easily this was a rare and cherished experience that only happened once. As such i spent these moments at 120kph+ feeling like i was in warp drive going from Teimos shop to the long driveway to my house before crashing horribly and ending this treasured experience.
I would not recommend going much under listed minimum requirements, it plays very odd, but its definitely possible.
It does not lock at 20 FPS, it's just the lowest number that the counter will show. Faster than 20 FPS is shown correctly, and to get decent performance you definitely need a somewhat beefy GPU and CPU.
Which is a shame, because not many of us can afford better GPUs and CPUs because most jobs are too picky to hire people nowadays. Even high-end PC users aren't too generous to other PC gamers.
