Unlocking the computer game achievements
Why are some of them so impossibly hard? The JFK race, grilly, and the santa claus games are probably some of the most punishing near impossible things i've ever had the displeasure to play. Is there any tip to get good at them, or any way to mod the game to make those games easier?

Certainly. I don't understand Finnish language, so unlocking the achievements of Grillisimulaattori(grilli) is almost impossible. Hahaha. XD

Well, I have a little time at the end of this year, so I will try again...

Grillsimulator is hard, but i think some others like JFK Raece and the santa claus one that your parents give you are near impossible on a gameplay concept. Specially the santa one.

JFK Race was easy IMO, but Joulu is really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard and Grillisimulaattori is possible if you're Finnish

Yes. Santa is pretty hard... I'm going to play with the pad controller because the keyboard is difficult to operate. I think it's still difficult to unlock the achievement. Lol

JFKRace is a struggle. The snipers always just so happen to spawn too close to him.

I dont think it would be much easier. The speed and turn radious of santa is way too annoying. Im not even sure that the 2 people that got the achievement even got it legitimately

*days. Even as hard as level 4 is, sometimes getting to level 4 in the first place is the hard part.

JFK feels the hardest of them all because it takes about four minutes to finish it and you always have to start from the beginning when you fail. So it takes quite a bit of time to go to the last part of the game to even be able to practice it. It's not impossible though.

One pro-tip for the game would be to avoid using boost until the part with the snipers. At that point it's very much recommended to use the boost especially if the sniper light appears close to you.

Right now I don't remember if the sniper light tracks JFK's head position at the moment it appears on the screen or at the moment it starts to move. In any case when you see the sniper, try to get the distance between JFK's head and the sniper light long, and when it starts to move, be sure to move away from that position as quickly as possible. Remember to use BOOST!

In the Santa Claus game try to learn to beat the first three levels without dying at all. Every time you complete a level you get an extra life and they are very much needed in the last level. When you still have low speed, try to collect all presents from the sides of the screens. This game isn't impossible either. It's deliberately hard, but I've seen surprisingly many players finish it.

I think I haven't seen anyone finish JFK though, but I know some have done it. And I of course have finished them both (haven't got the achievements yet as I hope to one day having a stream where I finish them in-game, but I've done it several times while developing and testing them).

JFK is pretty hard for me too. I've always had no more than two bars of energy left when I've completed it.

The issue is that JFK Race would be so much better if you could even move diagonally to begin with. And even when i do better and better with the early santa levels i still think its borderline sadistic. I dont feel i get better in the game at all the more i play.

As for the grill game, just subtitles would be enough to make it bearable.

For me it takes literally hours of real time (days as a result) to get good in a game to acquire the achievement. Did some, including jfk, but cannot be bothered to catch them all. Too time consuming.

Subtitles for that game would be pretty hard to implement without making the game trivial. Customers(all except the one whose order is a riddle) speak gibberish that distantly resembles Finnish language and the point is to figure out their order of it. I speak Finnish and I still often had to resort to guessing between two or more options. Often I got it right just because I had memorized what order matched with a particular line of gibberish.

The orders at the bottom of the list are asked rarely.

Thing is, for non finnish speakers the game is almost a guessing game. On top of the gibberish each character says you have to remember what each one orders, and as someone that cant relate that gibberish to words, it gets hard.
Jouni Dec 27, 2019 @ 9:24am
I guess you could write the orders to google translate and try to memorize the pronunciation it gives you. Most of the time game's characters only say the order's name(in its distorted form) and possibly some very short word(s) which can't be confused to order names so it becomes fairly simple pattern recognition. The difference to native Finnish speakers isn't that large on those but the riddle guy with beard and stone tablet would still be a pain.

i`ve done them all so far.. exept for the pilkki ice fishing... 0% got it, so i`m assuming it might be bugged.

for jfk: its possible within a few tries.

grilli: i`m not speaking finnish, but with some paper, a calculation table and a days work it was done. about 6 voice lines for each character.. it`s fine.

joulu? damn... this thing drove me crazy. try the "running in a circle and let loose for 0.1 second" tactic.. got me through.

JFK out of all of them might be the easiest, its just painful that the sniper 1 hit kills you, you cant drive diagonal, and it takes 4 minutes of progress to return to where you died. Joulu's "let loose for 0.1 seconds" is a ♥♥♥♥♥ tho. The radious changes with speed, and either my reflexes got worse and im just 24 years old, or i should get a better monitor because i fail even doing that.
