Popping noise coming from engine [SOLVED]
Hey guys,

so I've been building my car the past hours and when I first started it, it made a popping sound and continued doing that while idling. So I was like "must be timing and or carb". Tuned both, valves are one tick away from clicking and a/f ratio is at 14. But the popping sound just wont go away, no matter what I try. Heard something about the camshaft but thats aligned aswell... so does anybody know how to fix this?

Popping sound? That sounds like backfiring, 14 a/f might be the cause try tuning it to 13.1. If that doesn't work make sure your car isn't overheating.

Also, is your distributor tuned properly?
if you are on Experimental, leave Experimental.

Tried the 13.1 still poppin. What do you mean by tuning the distributor?

Then It's backfiring, as the distributor can't be tuned yet in official. Imma ask again, is your engine overheating?

Its his camshaft alignment, its off by one tooth.

Cam alignment sounds to me to check, can do in car. The only other time should pop is if too lean when letting off throttle under load.

Oh wow, I thought it was aligned from the beginning and I even checked that. But yeah checked again, it literally was off by one tooth. Thanks that solved it.

Still thanks to everybody for taking their time ^^

Thanks everyone. I had the same issue. Fleetari got very rich from me as I litterally replaced all the engine parts :steamsad: (Just started a new profile so a lot of poop was sucked ). But now the Satsuma is purring like a kitten again.
