then: yes, it takes a while to catch some fish. make sure to put it some distance away from the shore, but close enough, so you can still reach it.
it feels like they get caught easyer, if the player is far away from the trap.
But they don't. IRL. If they "knew" how to swim out, of course they would. And some probably do.
But if the thing isn't open in the first place, they can't even get IN to the thing and thus get trapped inside.
