How to attach engine to engine hoist?
I've scrolled through 10 pages but didnt find the answer. I have built the engine on the floor, how do i attach it to the engine hoist? I have spent hours trying to do it with no luck.

Align the hoist attachment with the attachment on the engine until you see two bolts appear. It usually makes a "click" sound once you have it in the right spot. As soon as the bolts appear you can just simply screw them in and the engine willl pop into place.

lower the hoist as far as it will go, place the engine block near the screws. Tighten the hoist screws, then go and save the game, come back to garage and the engine will be mounted in the air.

how he said ,but after u hear that sound go save the game and than go back in and the engine will be up.

No need to do that if you actually align it properly in first place.. That is more of an exploit/cheat if you do not do it properly. It should pop into place without needing to save/reload after screwing in the bolts.

Attaching an engine is far too hard, i had the whole car done except that, i quit playing because its just too frustrating

(and yes its easier in real life because i've done it in real life, you spend 5 minutes tops nudging the engine into alignment, the worst part of a IRL engine is actually going to be the transmission bellhousing bolts because on most cars you'll be sharing some of those bolts with the starter, and you'll be doing this while its all IN the car, which means exceptionally tight spaces to work in, the top bolts are the worst bar-none)

All of the parts were snap on up until the engine itself, why change that? why not have it so the engine snaps onto the hoist, and once lowered in you get the same checkmark so it snaps into the car, that would work 300% better and would not deprive anyone of anything.

it does snap, but you have to bolt it first. you don't have to be super precise with that

i was talking about actually getting the engine in the car, i forgot the thread was about the hoist itself, i've spent far more time than i should be trying to get the engine in the car.

well, it's a matter of practice. just take your time aligning the hoist, take notes on how it should approach the car, where you stop it, and so on, so next time you'll be faster

build it to the point you have headers on the block, then lower the hoist right down, carry engine MAKING SURE THE AIR FILTER IS AT THE BACK place the engine down very roughly so its near both hoist bolts, when you put it down you will hear a tool sound, tighten bolts and lift up

move it in position, REMEMBER THAT WHEN YOU LOWER THE ENGINE IT MOVES FORWARD run back n forth between hoist and engine 3pumps down check, dont be precise about it just get it rough doesnt have to be all the way in check position, check if 11mm bolts are displayed each time when it gets in low

when bolts show, tighten just one = hear the tool noise again, then do the other two, dont bother lifting the hoist just drag it clear

I had issues getting the block by itself onto the hoist but had no issues with a 3/4 and 100% built engines. as long as the hoist screws are the same height as the block, it will snap on.

easier to drop the engine in the compartment by just picking it up and it will usually be fine

You need to have the exhaust manifold or "blocker" fitted as this holds the other mounting point for the hoist

So my question is: I right clicked on the block and the whole engine (fully completed) fell to the ground, I picked it up (no I am not Superman) and put it on the table in the garage, now how do I get it back on the hoist. I already tried unscrewing the bolts then tried reattaching but it just wont work. Help plz???

Top oh the manifold on the one corner doesn't really tell you till you stick your wrench up to it

i just found out easiest way to put engine on hoist all you need to doo is just put engine on the floor where it would be when putting it to hoist but actually you dont have to lower the hoist just tighten those 2 bolts which is 10 mm i dont know does it work for all or was that just some grazy lag i have done it few times so i dont think its lag
but i just tried this just for fun i threw the engine some where and just tightened the bolts and it magigaly appears there
