Clutch cover plate stuck on

I put the clutch cover plate on accidently without putting the clutch and pressure plate inside. Realizing my mistake I proceeded to loosen the plate to remove it. Like all other parts once loosened they pop off when you right-click them, but the cover will not come off no matter how much I try.

Some insight would be helpful.

It is not your fault, it is very odd bug which I have been trying to reproduce for few days now. I hope to solve this soon. You could try to save/load and see if you can remove it.

I didn't play for a while but when I came back it seemed to have fixed itself. Although, now I can't get the belt on.. (╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻

The whole "parts won't attach" bug is annoying, but it's universally fixed by saving and quitting, then reloading your save.
