you on experimental?

hits the 9k rpm and dies
according to msc editor, everything is fine
now I'm going to rebuild the engine to see if that helps
Valve timing?
Depending on how you adjust your valves, you can make it go well past the red zone you see in your RPM gauge & vice versa, you can set up valves to not go above 6k RPM, but have alot more low end torque.
and no that's not 9k RPM. It LOOKS like 9k. but if you use the gas pedal lightly you will find out it wont go over 8k.
It could also be the parts wear or the lack of oil.
racing fly, twin carbs
no wear, fluids full
It does, i've tested it on a mod that represents a Dyno & the Drag strip.
And yes, you can actually set up valves to go past the rpms you see, but no recommended since your engine will probably blow up, there is a video on youtube how Mercedes does this stuff with Modern cars, way more complex than any older car / or in MSC, but you get the idea :)
