Lost Save Game

[SL4V_ELIT3]

I was loading my game with mods (not a first time) and the game freezed while loading last mod so I force quit my computer and turned it on. Started game and theres no Continue option I converted my backup file from Savegame Editor to txt and started the game again but theres no Continue option

When I try to open the defaultES2File.txt it throw an error saying:
Load failure at Offset: 85402 Unexpected end of entry. Expected symbol: {

I have Windows 10 Home and Experimental Test Branch active

quite sure you arent getting your save back as its corrupted

This happened to me as well, after spending a good solid night getting the satsuma pretty much completed..
No mods installed just the vanilla game...

I could not fix it but luckyli I copied my save not a long time ago so I just lost few progress because backup save throwing errors

(I know this post is old and I found it while searching for my problem) Yeah, it's probably corrupted since this error occurred to me after MSC crashed when the death screen tried to save. The crash was intentional, since it worked before in getting around the death screen saving your game, but if it crashes too late, it will just corrupt your save, as it tries to update the values but fails to when it crashes, causing a corruption

You do know that Topless have changed the permadeath option. So now when you die, you can´t use alt + f4 to save your savegame.

No, its exactly the opposite. Before the big update you could "save" your save if you closed the game (basically alt+f4) before newspaper appears. After that update the savegame is deleted right at the moment of death (so when you see blood on your screen, it is already too late, the savegame is deleted).
How to overcome this? I save my files manually time to time straight from %appdata%.

Typo, sorry. Forgot to read through it, before posting it.

How are you "converting" those backup files exactly? You need to rename the file extention to txt in the file explorer, not open it with a text editor and save it. The latter will destroy the file.
