Pop sound on engine start up
I'm not a master mechanic who's built at least 3 cars out of metal ore in my life. So forgive me for some poor terminology. Also this applies for my Satsuma as I'm not sure if you can open up the engine on the van, yet.

I've completed my entire engine, checked that everything's bolted down twice and topped up on motor oil and brake/clutch fluid in their respective master cylinders, I tried to tune the valves on the rocker shaft so I took off the rocker cover and air filter, but when I start up the car, all I hear is a pop and the engine shuts off.

I have a sneaking suspicion it's the starter or the spark plugs. Anyone has a solution for this?

Not sure, I built my first engine in game and it started right up no issues.. Didn't have to tune anything.. Have you put gas in the car? A poping noise irl usually means like a stuck valve, or messed up timing. So maybe you screwed something up trying to mess with the valves.

The mechanic parts are quite simplified, but better than car mechaninc simulator. Your problem is probably that you've got the fuel mixture wrong, provided that nothing else's missing. If it's running black smoke, it's very rich. Check for videos on how to fix it, you just have to turn a screw on the carburator, which affects idle as well.

That's your rocker valve tuning. They pop when improperly tuned. Turn all the screws 18 clicks clockwise, then when you did that, turn them all back 11 clicks clockwise

Ah alright, guess I'll have to tamper with that at a later date. Thank god I saved before messing with it, thanks guys.

This happened to me today. The 18 clicks method didn't work for me though, did it work for you?
Do 20 down 7 up to get the engine running this isnt tuned valves fyi after that give the engine some time to warm up once its warm tune the carb to the color of the smoke go all the way white clear almost just before it starts popping then turn it a few back towards the rich side should give you a stable enough build to get it to the store and mechanics back.

Can you simplify that without all the gibberish?

I have the same problem, I used my whole day making the car and 3 hours worth of trying to put a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tailpipe in the car, I now have a problem and can't get it to start because it will start, make a loud pop, and smoke, after that it turns off. I did the 18CW 11CCW and it didn't help, that is what brought the smoke and I checked all the oils they are fine. I need a way to reset the thing, but I don't know how.

The 20 down, 7 up IS resetting them. The screws will spin forever, but they only have 20 settings. Once you get to the bottom one, screwing it down further doesnt do anything.

It also equates to screwing them around twice, and then backing them off quarter of a turn.

The pop sounds like it could be a carbie issue. Have you adjusted the screw on that as well? I cant remember what its bottom out numbers are.

End of the day, you tried MSCEditor?
Your rocker shaft is kinda of desimated. You'll need to take it to fleetari.
