Coolant draining right out
Hi all,

I'm having an issue with my coolant. It seems that as soon as I've poored it in the radiator is empty again. I'm not even driving the car yet, still working on tuning.

The 4 bolts on the radiator are in, the 3 pipes installed in order, and the water pump is connected to the pulley by its 4 bolts and then to the block by the 5 bolts. This is my second build and I'm 99% sure every bolt and screw is in place. I just can't work it out.

Is there anything else I can check?

Also... I picked up the fuel mix gauge and am a little confused by it. It's reading 13, I can turn it down, but not up, 13 is the highest I seem to be able to get (just the carb screw right?). I understand a good mix is around 14.7.... how do I get there?

check cyclinder head and make sure all the bolts are tightened should be about 8 inside the valve/rocker part

I can confirm that the cylinder head is appropriately tightened, all 8 bolts.

After a save and restart I seem to be able to dial past 13 now. I've also made th adjustments while the engine is running (something I wasnt doing before) which may have also made a difference.

Is your car warmed up? That is when you'll be getting the real mixture figure.

This^, the mixture decreases and the ratio rises as the engine gets closer to operating temp. Also use the choke and throttle it to get it to temp faster.

Yes that's what it would be - thanks for confirming.

I didn't get to the bottom of the cooling issue - but I had another issue with that save so I'm rolling a new one anyway.

Coolant can be lost due to overheating from there being an oil leak. Check oil filter, Oil pan, Drain plug, valve cover, oil fill cap etc. and make sure oil is topped off. Also if you are using racing components make sure larger radiator is installed.

Gonna have to revert to the last save. My ♥♥♥♥ was bugged and I kept losing coolant after overheating it.

Where is the drain plug located?
On the bottom of the oil pan.
