Engine smoke/Exhaust leak
My car all of the sudden is blowing smoke from somewhere around the air filter. MSC editor says no bolts are loose, and I had it tighten all of them. Suggestions?

Editor says there's no damaged parts though. I guess I don't know if the smoke is just a generic location or if it actually depends on the part thats missing/broken.

Could possibly be a bad tune, I think? Make sure carb/fuel/air mix would be close to optimal.

All I know is, your car will smoke no matter what. It depends on what color smoke is produced.

Also, what aftermarket parts you have installed. I have learned you can't always trust the editor to give you optimal info on current builds. A lot of this is still "test and tune" stuff, depending on your configuration. At least, that's been my experience.

It always smokes from under the hood? I can't say I've noticed that before. No aftermarket parts at all yet.

Check your exhaust manifold, I remember one time the smoke came from under the hood because my exhaust came apart

do you have steel headers and a stock muffler, that could be the problem
