Stalling in neutral, NICE!
So the Shatsuma has developed a stalling/taking off problem. It will stall in neutral, and the car either barely gets moving or stalls when trying to take off. I am guessing that the clutch is going out, but I'm not familiar enough with the car to diagnose specific issues yet. Oh, and the car has been running well prior to this.

if u didnt have this issue before 1st check your sparkplugs could be those are going bad

Try holding the throttle slightly when starting the car, it will most likely prevent stalling. If the car revs up really erratically when doing so, its your fuel pump thats broken.

Do the parts have a worn out look to them when they are failing? I'll have to check both the spark plugs and the fuel pump soon.

Actually, would it be possible to upload my save file?

Spark plugs yes, fuel pump no. only internal engine parts have visible wear, like pistons, headgasket and plugs. others only look different when broken, others dont have any indication at all.
You cant upload them on steam as far as i know. Just try out my diagnose tips and if it doesnt work, try to give me some more detailed info. or just trial and error with fleetaris parts, reload the game if it doesnt help.
I dont think the clutch is the problem though. ive never had the issue of a broken clutch, but since its a friction wheel, id say getting the car going would be the only problem, as the pressure of the friction plate would go down.

So, a new development has just happened. While letting the car idle to get up to operating temperature, a piston got chucked out of the block. The car was just idling. Luckily I saved a little before this happened.

aw crankshaft u probally need a rebuild and get that piston replaced

the clutch can wear out but that would mean the car stalls when taking off beter said no torq i recently had to replace the clutch as it was wornout and the headgasket and the waterpump altenator etc well lets call it a big service my pistons where fine

Those parts are easy to find out if theyre broken.... but yeah, thats a lot of money for a vanilla player. it's suggested that you replace all engine parts as soon as possible regardless. All breakable parts are down to 35-20% condition when you first assemble the engine. meaning at some point, your little major engine failure could repeat itself reaaally quickly

Lean into the car with Q. you can see the wear on the pistons. but i am pretty certain its the piston thats bugging you, if it fell off the engine. but just to be safe, check the other pistons too. if the surface is really dark, theyre really close to dying too.

If they look like this, its about time you replace them.

like blow a hole in the block like my engine did :steamhappy:
Ryelos Apr 3, 2020 @ 11:19am
yeah, and then spend 3k on a new one...

When the piston fell out, the block remained intact. Luckily I saved before that happened. Prior to that save, I changed the spark plugs. It turned over pretty quick but it didn't solve the power loss. It might not even be the fuel pump at this point.
