I tried that, but no luck.
Mapping gears to specific buttons and H-shifter enabled doesn't work on kb because u need to then hold that gear key down, if u release it goes into neutral. I'm not 100% sure how it works with kb since I've never tested.
The only practical way to shift on keyboard or controller (or a wheel if you don't have a shifter) is sequentially either with or without auto clutch.
Not sure if I read you, I'm talking about downshifting back to first gear quickly after you have come to a complete stop. The car isn't moving so the revs should not go up, and the wheels aren't turning. A glitch with the clutch like you describe going out suddenly should just stall the vehicle, unless there is something else I'm missing?
So far, I have not experianced any issues leaving vehicles idling in first gear with autoclutch holding it in neutral. I do this when I suck ♥♥♥♥ with the ♥♥♥♥ suck truck to earn a buck. Maybe it's just dumb luck.
