Have been trying for a long time xP
I've had a hard time getting my engine to blow with the racing flywheel, other than downshifting ofc.

Guessing I f*cked up somewhere. I'm not sure why my engine blew up, I installed it like the other one, together with racing exhaust, muffler, twin carburators and racing radiator. Oil was okay and the mixture below 14.
Never had this problem. The engine will not over rev without nos activated or a mechanical overrev (shifting down too agressively). Just by installing the flywheel i have not been able to recreate this. I think it wouldnt cause this to happen in real life either as the weight of the flywheel just slows down the revving and its effect is not dependent on the rotational speed. all the force the flywheel projects to the crankshaft comes from inertia, not momentum, except for when the engine is trying to slow down
Thus the internal inertia of the engine will not cause additional total resistive force, thus it will not affect how high it can rev, only the speed at which it can do it.
Think about this this way. Air resistance does go up as your speed increases, limiting your top speed, however, if your car is lighter, you will achieve the same top speed but just more quickly. This is the very same case with the lighter flywheel
By the same logic the car would idle higher too with the lighter flywheel, which does not happen
